I like the example of persuasive public speaking topics that you mentioned above. We must find topics that is interesting and something that what audience really want to know. I want to give my example of persuasive public speaking topics which is UFO`s are real. When audience hear that topic, they would feel excited to know the details of the speech. From that, we can have their attention. The general purpose is to help you understand that UFO`s are real which is there are flying object that cannot be identified. Not everybody believe in UFO. If we want to persude our audience, we must prepared the proof to male our audience believe anything we said. For example :

3.Land Circle

Other example :

From all the topic that you mentioned, there are several topic that i like. Maybe i can use that topic to give my speech. As everybody know, to make a persuasive speech is not easy. And to me, to make a speech is very hard to do. I don't know how to make a good speech. And here some example from me :

How do we start a persuasive speech,

There are a couple ways to start a persuasive speech. They options are these:

-a statistic about your topic,

-a quote relating to your topic,

-a retorhical question (a question not to be answered,

-a story,

-humor

An easy way to remember these is SQQSH! (squish) For stats, quote, question, story, humor! Hope this helps!

Urm..what a great example of some good persuasive speech topics..

Parent should spank their children?
think so! hehe..

sometimes its ok to lie?
isnt it should be, "its ok to lie everytime"..hehe..

Here are some useful tips on choosing a good persuasive topics..

- Be creative, and avoid tired topics that the instructor and the students have it many times.

- The audience will likely get bored and tune you out. And the lecturer might also heard the topic before. She/he will knows what of mistakes will the students be making when giving the speech and easily detect the errors.

Here are some tired persuasive speeches that students should avoid and i find it useful for students to ensure that their assessor will not be able to catch up their errors easily..

It is a contra on the topic tyat Ms Mimi has posted. I find it useful to share.

Here is a list of tired persuasive speaking topics that you probably want to avoid:

1. The death penalty. In my experience, this is by far the number one tired topic chosen by students. I have no idea why, as I doubt many students have personal experience with the death penalty.

2. Why you should join a fraternity or sorority. There's nothing wrong with this topic, but everyone on campus has heard these arguments before. Your audience will tune you out.

3. Why marijuana should be legal. If you choose this topic, you need to give an excellent speech or the class will dismiss you as a stoner.

4. Why the drinking age should be 18. Same as above.

5. Abortion. This topic isn't as tired as you think, but everyone has heard these arguments before.

6. Why you should wear your seat belt. Or why you should wear your helmet. This is not new information.

7. Why you shouldn't smoke. Also not new information. Why you shouldn't binge drink is kind of a tired topic too, but it's more timely.

8. Why you should use a condom. An important message? Yes. A new message? No. If you do this speech, for gosh sakes, don't demonstrate how to put a condom on a banana.

9. Why you should give blood. Another useful topic that unfortunately has been overused.

10. Why you should recycle. See #9.

11. Violence in the media. This topic is both tired and difficult. There's so much information out there about violence in the media, and lots of it is conflicting. Sex in the media also is a tired topic.

12. Why you should adopt a pet. This speech always goes the same: cute pictures of kitties and doggies, followed by horrible stats about how many animals are put down. The get your pet spayed or neutered speech is not as tired, but avoid any cheesy references to Bob Barker.

13. Affirmative Action. There's nothing wrong with a controversial topic, but this one has been overused big time.

“Common persuasive speech topics on common sense in public debate are also very popular to talk about” Yes, I agree that what you mention in this page. First time I hear about the ‘persuasive speech’ I don’t know how to imaging the skill. So, the persuasive speech is too popular if we can mention, persuasive speech = public speaking. (Hum.. I hope its true.. or maybe the other reads this will change it if it wrong..) Actually I don’t know the English public debate speaking skills and format. but as you said “Personal experience is more valuable than knowledge gained at school”, so I interested to give some feedback about the debate.
All people can do this persuasive speech if we have all prepare what the need in Speech Preparation . but sometime in debate of group, the other team that does not agree what we talk will make trouble with question. The question likes time bomb that will explode anytime. And some time if we does not have idea or fact to answer the question it will make we forget or loss what we need to talk. So I think in persuasive speech, we need to have small piece of paper that highlights the point of what we want to declare. Especially in debates arena. So the small piece of paper will become safety jacket of speech.
Such as what we know.. emotion is important in all type of speech..In debate arena other team will kill with strong a physiological word that will make their enemy angry and never control their emotion. Such as “you just talk louder like lion but no point!”.this is one of different between normal persuasive speech and debate speech. So in debate arena the presenter need more harder.

THANK YOU WITH YOUR TIPS. THAT'S VERY INTERESTING.

Here are some tips I would like to share for doing well in public speaking :

* Read the assignment sheets carefully. Public speaking instructors usually give very specific criteria, including how many sources you have to include and how many visual aids to use. Be sure you understand all the criteria and follow the instructions carefully in your speech.

* Remember, delivery isn't everything. Delivery is how you use your voice and body to present the speech to an audience. This is important. However, candidates sometimes place too much importance on delivery and not enough on the content of the speech. The speech needs to be well written and interesting.

* Choose interesting topics. Brainstorm to find interesting topics that haven't been overused. Also, make sure your topic is appropriate for the assignment. If you're not sure, ask.
* Practice. An absolute must. Practice your speeches at least three times before you deliver them in class. I'm not kidding.
* Practice and time yourself. When you practice, make sure you're within the assigned time limit. If you are not, fix your speech until you are.

* Write a great speech outline. Your instructor will require you to write a detailed outline before you give your speech. This is not busywork! One of the biggest problems students have with speeches is organization. Your outline will help you organize your speech.

* Use great visual aids. First of all, your visual aids have to be easy to see and look professional. But perhaps more importantly, your visual aids need to help convey the ideas of the speech. A list of your three main points isn't a very useful visual aid because it doesn't demonstrate anything.

* Speak loudly and slowly. By far, this is the most common problem that students have with delivery.

* Unless you are told otherwise, do not read your speech word for word. Many of students often do this because they are nervous. Unfortunately, reading a speech word for word is a terrible way to establish good interaction with the audience.

* Use sources to increase your credibility. When you cite a source, be sure to tell the audience who the source is and why your source is trustworthy. For example, if you're giving a speech about lung cancer, say, "According to Dr. Jane Doe, Vice President of the American Lung Association...."

* Give information and examples in your speech that the audience can relate to.

thank you.

In your entry, i'm very interest with one of your persuasive's list. Thats is "parents should not spank their children". Eventhough it looks like inconsequential thing but actually it will give a big impact to our children. Here, i'll give you an outline of that speech.

TOPIC: parents should not spank their children.

PURPOSE: to persuade parents should not spank their children.

INTRODUCTION

Should parents spank their children? Can spankling the children lead to them having emotional problems in future? Is spankling the only way parents work toward teach their children?

TRANSITION

Lets be the one that answer all the question with answer no. And now i will explain why the answer should be no.

PREVIEW

1. Spankling undermines a child's self-esteem.
2. spankling can cause a child to be fearful.
3. spankling can cause children become aggresive.

TRANSITION

Now, i will try to explain you why parents should not spank their children.

BODY

1.Spankling undermines a child's self-esteem.
-A child's behaviour is influenced by how they feel on inside.
-Behind every behaviour is an emotion that is causing the behaviour.
-By through punishment, it gives the child feeling that "i am bad". So when a child feels they are bad, they usually behave badly too.

TRANSITION

Also, i will explain you how spankling can cause a child to be fearful.

2. Spankling can cause a child to be fearful.
-Fear is not the way to motivate or teach a child. But fear can they are likely misbehave when they are away from parents.
-It tends to be linked with a specific situation because children cant generalise other situations.
-Children will bullying other children.

3. Spankling can cause children become aggresive.
-It is a reaction techniquesthat act as quick fix which is superficial and ineffective long term.
-Children who were spanked or smacked were more likely to become antisocial in adolecent.
-By spankling there will exist a relationship between physical force and child aggression.

TRANSITION

So what do you think about spankling children as a motivation now? I will conclude about that.

CONCLUSION

A positive parent-child relationship is the real key to effective parenting. Effective parenting is choosing child management techniques that build a strong emotional connection with child. So is that effective when spankling damages relationship between you and your children?

salam.today i would like to shared with you one example of the persuasive speech..i got this speech from internet..

Single parent adoption may seem to be a trendy decision, since females are too independent to get married and too busy to give birth to a child of their own. When the time for birth-delivering activities is lost and middle-age loneliness may be frightening, females may think of single parent adoption. They are eager to experience this fatherless and abortive motherhood. In the past, women escaped from loneliness devoted all love and care to pets, dogs or cats. Times have changed, as well as the objects of love originated from loneliness.

An adopted child wants to hear the lullaby sung by mom and dad, tied to a healthy family, not just a household. Such a child desperately needs strong family bonds, not companionship. Have you ever thought of single parent adoption as the reality of your life?

A single adoptive parent, unlike a single divorced parent, bears the burden of a single responsibility when raising an adopted child. Adoptive singles, unlike divorced parents, cannot create a feeling of a family tie, for they single-handedly serve their parenthood. If something happens to an adoptive parent, an adopted child will have to overcome a very traumatic experience. Single parents are under the pressure of not being able to handle on their own the duties of single adoption. Single adoptive fathers are very few because agencies prefer two-parent families or single adoptive mothers.

Single parents are better educated and have a higher socio-economic status than many other parents. They have commitment to parenthood which they could not realize as first parents. This commitment drives them to adopt a child whom they can give a new home. An adopted kid has all love of an adoptive parent, and loves this parent in return. A traditional two-parent family is ideal for an adopted child. In a single adoptive parent's household, an adopted child may experience emotional and psychological problems.

Single parent adoption is a way out for adopted children, since to have a parent is better than not to have such a parent. Single adoption is a human act that unites generations and makes life a meaningful interaction between an adopted child and an adoptive parent, not alone anymore. Whatever minuses of single adoption, let people commit this act of family building to be happy with their adopted kids. Keep from criticizing single parent adoption. It is a brave and respectful decision, isn't it?

Based on my previous presentation about Persuasive Speech Outline on ghost topic, i do made some research about it. Not about the topic but about the way to make it suitable for persuasive speech. It is totally difficult to make a group of people to disbelief the ghost appearance, so to make people belief it, we must:

1. As a persuasive speech is rely on factual evidence and statistic, therefore the speaker must to use as minimal as can the religious fact because there are some different view and opinions on the religion itself. The speaker must use something factual that can be prove by science, research and statistic.

2. In case of argument occurred between the audience, speaker must understand the way of audience view, hence consider on making a concrete statement due to the topic persuade.

3. Avoid from bring racism statement and religious issue on the topic. Being to rigid on one view of tradition issue also would cause our speech bias.

4. The good persuasive speech is posses by current issues topic. Topic that beyond those issues or somethings that not reliable on audience situation make resulting passive audience due to the boredom.

That's all the research that i have made for this moment. Later on i will make any enhancement about these topic.

Assalamualaikum,

We must choose a good topic for our persuasive speech,to make sure we can persuade our audience to hear to our speech.Besides, we must avoid ourself to choose a poor topic:

Choosing a Topic that Bores You
When giving a persuasive speech, you absolutely must feel strongly about your topic. Otherwise, how will you ever persuade the audience to agree with you? Take the time to choose a topic that's meaningful to you personally, and never choose a topic simply because it sounds easy. Here are some persuasive speaking topics for you to consider.

Choosing a Topic You Feel Too Strongly About
On the other hand, avoid your "hot button" topics. Everyone has issues that they feel so strongly about that they can't really sympathize with where people are coming from. There's nothing wrong with feeling this way about an issue, but it's also not a good idea to give a persuasive speech on these topics. In order to write a good persuasive speech, you need to be able to respectfully address opposing views within your speech, and it's difficult to do this with a hot button issue.

Choosing a Topic That Isn't Persuasive
In order for a speech to be persuasive, it has to clearly ask the audience to change their attitudes or behaviors in relation to your topic. If it doesn't do this, your speech is informative, but not persuasive-- and therefore doesn't meet the criteria for the assignment. Remember, an informative speech consists of information. A persuasive speech consists of evidence.

For example, a speech called "Why You Should Go to Belgium" that includes lots of information about the great cities and attractions in Belgium has some persuasive elements, and might convince someone to consider Brussels as a future tourist destination. However, what this speech does primarily is to provide the audience information about Belgium.

DaNNia (Nurulizzati) said...

In a more persuasive speech, you might try to persuade the audience that the U.S. should adopt a public transportation system that's more like Belgium's system. This speech would do more than just provide information about Belgium's buses and trains. Rather, it would provide evidence that Belgium's system is more efficient, cost effective, and environmentally friendly than public transportation in the United States.

To make sure a speech is indeed persuasive, make sure the speech uses evidence to change the audience's behavior and attitude about something-- and that it uses evidence to do so, as opposed to just information about a topic.

Choosing a Topic With No Controversy
Another mistake that students make is to choose a topic that everyone already agrees with. "Smoking is bad for you" is not an effective persuasive topic because you're not going to persuade the audience that this is true-- they already agree! Instead, choose a topic such as, "Our city should implement a smoking ban in all bars and restaurants." Now you've picked a topic that will require persuasion.

Choosing a Tired Topic
Avoid topics that are done all the time. Your instructor has heard these topics before and knows the mistakes students make when they speak on these topics-- so he or she will instantly be able to grade you down if you make the same mistakes. In addition, the audience is probably sick of these topics and may tune you out. Here are some tired persuasive speaking topics that you should avoid.

When you talk about persuasive public speaking there are
many topics that we can talk and discuss about the most is about especially about New trends,
ideas, stories, opinions, information
and knowledge your listeners do not know, but really like to
know.
A new exciting twist. E.g. Tie two speech ideas together and
invent a new
controversial insight. The way they are affected by your
common persuasive
speech topics. From this we can know that what is our
listener want to hear and what the speaker want to speak about.
From what you give at your page about ten examples of persuasive public speaking
topics on common grounds in thinking, behavior and attitude
i decided to choose this topic
Parents should not spank their childrento persuasive.
firstly, iwanna to talk bout the should or shouldnt spank childrens.
Ive seen the effects of spanking and the results of not spanking.
(introduction)
People think that if you don't spank, you are not disciplining.
Thats far from the truth.
(body)
Disciplining is teaching right from wrong. When a child does
something wrong, the child needs to learn why it is wrong. Your child will have no
reason to misbehave if there is no benefit to it.sometimes we cant teach our
childrens wit just give an advice or counselling because it doesn’t work at several
kids.from what we see why ministry of education do agreed spank student at
infront audience? Because there no else ways to make children behave better or prevent
them from do something not good. If the advice and counselling ways i
good,we can see that
if their children misbehave, then it's obvious that their
techniques don't
work. If they did, their children would start being good we
can see it from paper that social case among childrens is increase. If the
parent reacts by
spanking, all the child learns is that parents sometimes
hit. They know that if they get hit, it's probably not a good idea to do something
again, but they
can't be sure why.spank is not to harmed or torture.thats is
the ways parents
to treats children to knows what is nice and wrongsYou have to spank childrens when
thy are too much then you have to tell
your kids that they
should not do certain things, especially when they are in
their late teens and
you would have no way of stopping them from doing it behind
your back, it will
result in them doing it behind your back.

(Conclusion)
thats some example and elaboration on my topics i can give
to all of u
to think why spank must have on parents ways to treats
childrens.
thank you

Because my parents always, always, always story about their past generation when they heard me complaining about something. They have to realized that their kids growth in a modern life. They didn't know how their parent's life before. So,parents should not compare bout their past life with their kids life and parents should understand about their kids' lifestyle, but with a guidance for sure.

MP 3 players are an aid to concentrate. Definitely. me myself love to listen to music during revision. Without music, i can focus on my revision. So, it is a must to listening to music while studying.haha.

Men and women speak different languages in love matters. Wow, my favorite topic too.haha. Men has their own ways too express their love. Same also with women. In my opinion, the way men express their love maybe bit rough compare to women. Women will express their love in a soft and gentle way.

I totally agree with you that common persuasive speech topics on common sense in public debate are also very popular to talk about. There are a lot of things to consider to writing a persuasive speech. In order to influence others, you have to understand the subject, and understand the audiences perception of the subject.

The good persuasive speech is find a subject which you are passionate about. The listener does not want to hear a speech about something that you don't even care about.

HOW TO FIND A GREAT PERSUASIVE SPEAKING TOPIC:

1. Pick something you feel strongly about. If you don't feel strongly about your topic, how are you going to persuade the audience to feel the same way? Students sometime say, "But I don't feel strongly about anything!" Yes you do. Sit down with a piece of paper and brainstorm. If you like baseball, give a speech for or against salary caps. If you like rap music, give a speech on why rap music is not as violent as many people think. You get the idea.

2. Avoid your "hot button" topics. Don't pick something you feel too strongly about. Hot button topics are issues you feel so strongly about that it's hard for you to understand where the other side is coming from. In order to give a good persuasive speech, you need to understand the other side's point of view, because how else will you change it?

3. Pick something controversial. It doesn't have to be extremely controversial, but you do need to present a topic that not everyone agrees with. Otherwise there's no persuasion going on, and it's not a very good persuasive speech. For example, don't give a speech on why smoking is bad for your health. Who's going to disagree with that? Instead, try giving a speech for or against a campus-wide smoking ban. Now you have some controversy and a super topic.

4. Avoid "tired topics." Tired topics are those that students pick all the time and that your instructor has heard over and over again. Yawn. Be creative. Here are a list of tired persuasive speaking topics to avoid.

5. Pick a current event. Having trouble thinking of a topic? Go read a newspaper. What's going on in the world? If there's an election, endorse a candidate or a ballot referendum.
6. Pick a campus or local issue. Are there controversial issues around campus? Are there controversial issues in your college town? These topics will be very relevant to your audience members.

7. Pick an issue of interest to the audience. Give a speech about cell phones, or music downloads, or tuition hikes, or something the audience cares about. If they don't care about your issue, they won't be persuaded.

8. Pick a smaller part of a big issue. Don't try to change people's mind about a huge issue in your short speech, because you can't. Think you can change your classmates' mind about abortion in a 6-8 minute speech? Of course not. However, you might change their minds about a portion of this issue, like parental notification laws.

9. Be cautious with issues that some audience members might find offensive. Speech topics that some students might consider to be racist, anti-gay, or something along those lines are not great topics. Think about this: the object of this speech is to persuade your audience. If some of your audience members feel offended on a personal level, they sure aren't going to be persuaded. I'm a huge free speech advocate, but you might consider finding another outlet to express certain ideas than a persuasive speech.

Assalamualaikum

thank you for the several topics.
here i would like to share a persuasive speech.

Global Warming
There is little doubt that the planet is warming. Over the last century, the planets temperature has risen by around 1 degree fahrenheit (0.6 of a degree celsius). The warmest since the mid 1800’s was the 1990s. The hottest years recorded were 1997, 1998, 2001, 2002, 2003.
The United Nations panel on climate change projects that the global temperatures will rise 3-10 degrees fahrenheit by the century’s end - enough to have the polar caps all but melted. If the ice caps melt, a vast majority of our countries borders will be under water. Monuments and great buildings, as well as homes and lives will be under water, including New York City.
So now we know what some of the causes are for global warming, how can we as individuals do our part to help save the planet?

The answer is simpler than you may think. You don’t have to go miles away from home to protest, or spend masses of money. If you try to follow the few simple steps that I shall now give you, you will have started to help us all.
Firstly, plant a tree. This could be easier than it sounds. Join or help out a local wildlife group and ask to plant a tree. Trees, when fully grown, will help keep the planet cooler. On the same point, you could protest against the demolition of the rainforests. This is the same principle, we need the trees to cool our planet and yet they are chopping them down to create roads or homes.
Something as simple as walking instead of taking the car will help reduce pollution. As well as stopping pollution, you are giving yourself exercise, something important for our bodies. So the next time you get into your car, or your motorbike, think - do I have to make this journey by vehicle or can I walk?
When you are at home, and your getting a little cold. Put a jumper on and do not adjust the heating. The extra heat produced by our homes also affects the planet. So try wearing an extra layer in winter.
If possible, buy your fruit and vegetables from local suppliers. And try to avoid imported goods. The more foreign food that we import the more pollution from aeroplanes and boats it will create.
Keeping to the speed limit can also help the environment. The more you speed the more petrol you are going to use, making the pollution higher. Also, SUV’s make about six times their own weight in CO2 each year. A small efficient diesel car covering the same distance not only uses much less fuel; it makes two thirds less.
If possible use solar energy, after all it is free; all you need to buy is the equipment. You can get much of your hot water and heating from the sun and even generate electricity.
Reduce, reuse and recycle. Only buy what you need; don’t stock the cupboards with things you may or may not use. Reuse whatever you can, like containers and paper, and recycle what you cannot reuse. It really is as simple as that.
Finally turning off unused sources of power such as televisions and heaters will help the environment, as well as save you money.
If everybody stuck to these rules, we would be doing a great thing by protecting the earth. So please take into consideration what I have said, and try to do your part. After all, it will be our next generation that will feel the effects.

thank you.

Salam. From what I have read I can reflect that in order to engage and attract the audience we have to talk about a great and interesting topic. Sometimes I, myself also could not find interesting topic to talk about. It is so frustrating but I think, to have a better presentation is to choose a topic that we have enthusiasm in it. We can only persuade the audience if we feel strongly on our topic. If we cannot understand the topic, better do not pick it even it is a hot topic because it might burden you. We can just simply pick a topic that almost everyone agrees with it. So that there will be less argument between you and the audience. We also have to avoid ‘tired topic’ which the topic that most of all the students will pick it. it is better for us to have a different topic with others because if we have the same topic, the audience might compare which presenter is good. In easy way, just pick a current topic that we think that everyone might interested in it and avoid the issues that audience might find offensive. After all, I have a clearer image of presentation skills and public speaking skills. I hope that all my reflection is right. Thanks for everything. I will adapt all the tips given. =)

Before audience heard that text, usually audience what to know the topic. I think when audience heard that topic, they must think that speech must interesting. They can make their conclusion only based on the title either they want to heard or not that speech That's mean title of the topic can attract the audience.

This post also can make me idea to find the simple topic for my speech.

Thanks for your post madam. I’m a little bit confused while I need to choose the topic in this persuasive speech before this. But after I read your post and your example of persuasive speech topic, I now know how to create an effective persuasive speech. This is my favorite example topic that you have post.

I like your persuasive public speaking topic examples about “sometimes it is okay to lie”. I’m sure that many of us have ever been a liar. Don’t you think so? So why not I choose this topic as my persuasive speech because it will attract audience to listen my speech before they can raise their opinion.

The “Men and women speak different languages in love matters” topic also may be a hot topic because audiences involve men and women. So they might debate while lending their ears for the topic and it’s mean that this topic is really attractive.

“Time is much more worth than money, and that's not a cliché”. This topic also may reach so many opinions. In business, they said time is money and if they waste a minute, they will lose a million. That’s true so what’s about this topic. Do you agree with that?

Men and women always debate about their honour and I’m sure most of them want to win if we deliver about “Men are obliged to put the seat down for the convenience of women” topic. Why not because it is about dignity and I’m sure this is the best topic to be chosen.

So, by reading your blog I start to know how to find an attractive persuasive speech. Thanks madam~ (n_n,)

Assalamualaikum..
here i want to gave speech outline about blood donating.

Introduction
People like you made a conscious decision to donate blood and it’s their blood that has given Jim life. It is highly probably that you or someone you know will need a blood transfusion.
(Establishment of Credibility)
Through extensive research and personal experience of giving blood, I have learned how important it is to donate blood. (Preview of Main Points)
After explaining the need for a sufficient blood supply, the donation process, and benefits of giving blood I hope you will decide to save people’s lives by donating blood.

Body

I. Need Step
A. the stress on the blood supply is increasing.
1. The demand for blood never lets up because according to Met Life, every day thousands of people need donations to survive.
2. The blood must go through a series of time-consuming tests and then used before it perishes whole blood for instance cannot be used after 42 days.
B. Do not donate blood if you are unsure about the safety of your blood meaning not sure about what infectious agents, such as HIV and Hepatitis, are in your blood.
C. Theoretically, there is no reason why hospitals should not have enough safe blood for their patients. I read from the Children Hospital website that if just 10% of all possible donors give blood once a year, we will NEVER have a blood shortage problem.
D. There are numerous benefits of giving blood.
1. Soon after giving blood, you will receive a postcard with your cholesterol level on it along with the phrase, "Congratulations, you have just saved up to three lives!"
2.Also, you get to enjoy your favorite cookies, crackers, and beverages while you donate.
3. Many places on campus also give you a free T-shirt for donating.
4. Life South blood centers will cover all non-insured blood processing fees for the donor
Transition: Now that we know the problem, let’s move on to the solution.

Satisfaction Step
A. I want you to want to donate blood and to understand the process of giving blood.
B. The Civilian Blood Center has outlined the simple process of donating blood and I would like to share that information with you.
1. First you must be found eligible to donate blood.
a. You must be at least 17 year’s old, weigh at least 100 pounds, and be in good health.
b. Anyone who feels that their blood is at "high risk" for contracting certain diseases should not donate.
2. If you think you could be eligible to donate, visit the many bloodmobiles around campus or in your community.
a.Here you will answer a list of questions relating to your medical history.
b.If you pass the medical history test and if your iron level, blood pressure, temperature, and pulse are at appropriate levels you may donate blood.
Conclusion
So, as I have explained to you, there is a definite need for increased blood supplies in our hospitals. I. Someone needs blood every three seconds. The donation process is simple and you get the greatest benefit of all saving people’s lives. It’s hard to imagine that you don’t have to be a superhero or in the right place at the right time to save a life. As for me, whenever I get the chance, and as often as I am qualified, I intend to donate blood, and I urge you to do the same. All you have to do is sit back and relax while munching on your favorite snack and watch a priceless gift be transferred from you to a pint-sized plastic bag. A gift of life!

The structure of a persuasive speech is grounded on three fundamentals: identifying the need, providing a plan of solution, proving the practicality of the solution. When a speaker strives to persuade his/her listeners not to do something, the structure of the speech should be oriented on establishing the impracticality of performing the actions.

Accordingly, a model outline of a persuasive speech is based on a so-called Monroe's motivational sequence. Monroe's motivational sequence is a five-stage scheme of proving the necessity of some changes, actions, etc.

The scheme comprises:
a) Attracting attention of the audience to some problem that needs solution (with the help of a startling opening, visual aids, statistics, etc.
b) Proving the need for improvements and changes of a situation: different kinds of testimonies should be provided to demonstrate inefficiency of existing methods of solving the problem. The audience should be ready to absorb the new one as revolutionary, promising, positive.
c) Giving 'satisfaction' to the need: displaying a new workable solution to the problem and making sure the audience has understood your explanations. Bright details often facilitate learning of the new information.
d) Making the visualization of practical benefits, which a new solution brings. The visualization can be realized with the help visual aids, language imagery, and emotional presentation.
e) Motivating the audience to act according to your plan. In the final part of the motivational speech, it is expedient that the speaker recalls the initial problem and systematizes the benefits of his/her innovative solution.

These are others topic that I interest when the persuasive speeches do:

1. Career objectives
2. Global warming is real/not real
3. Human cloning (moral?)
4. Love is more powerful than hate
5. Sale of human organs should be legal/illegal

Salam Madam..

Persuasive speech is written to persuade, or convince the listeners, of the validity of the speaker's argument. This might involve persuading someone to change their opinion or at the very least take into account some elements that have not really been considered before.

Here I want to share with you an example of persuasive speech of abortion is a another name for murder.

A mother kills her baby because it is unwanted, yet she is not charged
with murder. Is this right? Believe it or not, this has happened more than twenty-million times in the past twenty years. The problem is that they have been killed legally because of abortion. Many people approve of abortion because they consider that a fetus is not an individual human until birth.

Abortion is wrong and it shouldn't be legal. If a doctor killed a baby one minute after it were born, they would be charged with murder. But if they were to kill a baby one minute before it were born, and a minute before that and so on, they would not be considered a murderer. At what minute can one consider life worthless and the next precious?

Some people will say that abortion is not a matter of life and death, but medical research proves that the fetus is a living organism. People also argue that a woman has the right to control her body and has the right to an abortion, but the fetus is a completely different life. Just because the unborn is dependent on the mother for nine months does not give anyone the right to end
it's life.

I hope that I have at least brought you to some understanding that a human fetus is a living individual. It should be remembered that a death occurs every time an abortion is performed--the death of an unborn child

That all, thank you

Assalammualaikum

I like your this post. It have many tips for persuasive speech. Before this I think that I can't give wrong facts in persuasive speech. But maybe sometime we need to lie to persuade people.

Beside that, in persuasive speech, the transition are important because the audience are not always concentrate with the speaker. the speaker should always take the audience attention.

But, sometime the real facts that the people don't know before this can take the audience attention. So, we need to get more information to prepare for public speech.

2. Open by stating your belief e.g. that smoking should be banned worldwide
3. Give reasons for your belief

4. Describe how things can be improved in accordance with your belief.

5. Tailor your speech to your audience. Teenagers won't care about cancer in old age but would hate to be thought smelly by the opposite sex. So if you are speaking about smoking that would be the angle to take if you had a young audience.

6. Know your facts but don't give too many.

7. Try to give word pictures e.g Smoking kills more people than the plague.

8. Your speech should be persuasive in tone, not aggressive

9. Keep it short. Audiences have a short attention span.

10. Summarise your speech and end on a memorable note.

from the article, the topic that you suggest is help me to organize and choose the topic for my persuasive speech. it's because, as we know, to choose the topic for persuasive speech is not easy as informative speech. To choose the topic for this persuasive speech, we have to know and analyze that the topic we choose can attract the audience. Some of your topic given above already attract me to know more about that. Its also hard to convince the audience using our speech if we not get ready at all and don't have enough information about the topic. so, it's not all depends on the topics, it's also depends on the information that we get because without the enough information, the topic that we choose also can't attract and convince the audience. so that, we failed to give the persuasive speech to our audience. So, choose the right topic and get the full information about the topic to make your persuasive speech success.

thank you.

We must choose a good topic for our persuasive speech,to make sure we can persuade our audience to hear to our speech.

I. Introduction:

A. Attention-Getter: How many of you can actually remember the days when you had to communicate via the phone or through letters, when you had to actually write checks and present them to humans to get cash, or had to go to the library to do literally all of your research?

B. Link-to Audience: Most of us can't imagine life without email, ATM machines, or the Internet because we rely on these things everyday to make our lives easier.

C. Speaker Credibility: Besides being an avid user of each of these technologies, I have done research on the pros and cons of Commuter Mediated Communication.

D. Thesis Sentence: Today I'm here to convince you that computer mediated communication is just as useful as face-to-face communication, and in some ways may even be better.

E. Preview of Speech: First I want to talk about the ways that computer mediated communication (CMC) can help build strong interpersonal relationships. Next, I'll address how CMC will positively affect the work place, and finally, I'll discuss how CMC will make intergroup relationships in large-scale organizations better as well.

Transition: Let's begin by talking about the way that the most common forms of CMC can help build strong interpersonal relationships.

II. Main Point #1
A. Strong interpersonal relationships: Some people argue that email isn't a good form of interpersonal communication because we don't see people's non-verbal cues, because the feedback isn't instant, or because we may be less of an individual when typing.
1. We are beginning to find ways to add expressiveness
a. punctuation
b. writing non-verbal expressions

2. We have unlimited interaction over the computer vs. limited interaction using the phone or face-to-face communication
a. we are driven as humans to communicate
b. it may take longer with computers, but we will still learn as much about others

3. With the Internet, it is much easier to find many friends with the same interests
a. web sites
b. chat rooms

Transition: Besides a great way to meet and visit with people interpersonally, CMC will bring positive changes in the workplace.

III. Main Point #2
A. Workplace
1. We will be more portable
2. We'll need less hierarchy
a. one person can communicate to many
b. communication flow will follow work flow
3. More contact among ranks
4. More efficient use of expertise

Transition: CMC won't positively affect the way that we do business, it will help us communicate interpersonally with our co-workers.

IV. Main Point #3
A. Interpersonal relationships in the workplace
1. Informality will increase
2. More people will be involved in decision making

Transition: Let's go back over what we've learned today.

IV. Conclusion
A. Restate thesis: Today I've explained to you why CMC will positively affect our lives.

B. Restate main points: First we talked about how CMC will help us build strong relationships, then we talked about how CMC will make the workplace better, and finally, we discussed how CMC can make the workplace a better place.

C. Call-to-Action: I encourage you to learn all that you can about CMC not only because it is the wave of the future, but also because CMC will soon be an inevitable part of our lives.

D. Clincher: And remember, it's time to get on the information highway, before you get run over.
