Title : Global Warming

In this point, speaker A was informing his audience about the global warming that was happened over the last century, the planets temperature has risen by around 1 degree Fahrenheit (0.6 of a degree Celsius). The warmest since the mid 1800’s was the 1990s. The hottest years recorded were 1997, 1998, 2001, 2002, 2003. For me, this statement want to inform audience what was happened around 1800 until 2003. Now, speaker A is trying to get his audience to save our global trough a ways which is plant a tree, then try something as simple as walking instead of taking the car will help reduce pollution. If possible use solar energy, all it is free, all you need to buy is the equipment. You can get much of your hot water and heating from the sun and even generate electricity. Finally, turning off unused sources of power such as televisions and heaters will help the environment, as well as save you money. From this statement that showing how we need to save our global before it become worst. The ways is too simple to everyone to follow it. So that, we can save a little bit global warming if we cooperate together to doing this ways.

If everybody stuck to these rules, we would be doing a great thing by protecting the earth. So please take into consideration what speaker A have said, and try to do your part. After all, it will be our next generation that will feel the effects. Everyone must keep this motto for your life which is "Reduce, Reuse and Recycle" to save our earth. Reduce what do you no need. Topic : Organ Donation

In this paragraph speaker N is informing audience that at this moment in the US there are 79,000 U.S patients on the transplant waiting list. Three thousand a month are added to this total. Not a lot you may say when the population is close to three hundred million, but now add twenty to thirty family and friends to each patient, and the number increases vastly.Every day between 16 and 17 people die whilst waiting for a transplant. Again you may say not a lot - but in the average mans' lifetime the death toll is 1,980,160 - almost two million people. You can help them. By donating your vital organs after you have passed away you can save lives.

Next paragraph is speaker N try to persuade audience to do organ donation and tell them how to do it by get in touch with your local doctor and he will tell you all you need to know. You fill out one form, and receive a card; it really is that easy. Then, once you have passed away in many years to come, your organs will be removed and will give somebody else the chance of life. Some people worry. Will they be left open after the surgery as they are already dead, or will they still be able to have an open casket funeral? The answers to these are simple. You will be treated with the up most respect in the surgery and the same procedures apply to the body as a living body. And yes, you will be able to have an open casket funeral if you wish to.

The gift of life is the most amazing gift anybody can give. How I see things, and what made me become a donor, is that after I am gone I will have no use for my organs. So why should I deprive someone else from using them. With organ donation also, we can save someone lives especially kids or teenagers that will lead our country in future.

Persuasive speech:Love Makes the World Go Round

In this first paragraph, speaker F is informing the audience about the simple basic meaning of love. Love is the basis of our lives. It might even be the reason for our existence. To love and to know love is the single greatest gift we can experience. Despite our great discoveries in math and science, love remains a mystery to us. Yet it is something that is so complex and powerful that it guides and rules our lives. Knowing true love is being in a state that is tantamount to bliss. It is as close to heaven as we are likely to get in this life. Without it, our lives are reduced to meaningless drudgery, misunderstanding and emptiness.

For the next paragraph, speaker F is going to tell the mysterious of love. Meaning that this paragraph is going to be an interesting part for the audience to listen what the speaker F will say. What is this mysterious thing called love? Poets, lovers and scholars down the ages have tried to capture it, define it, to depict it and tried to analyze it. Above all, they have sought to understand it. Is it a thought, a feeling or an emotion that simply passes through us or something far more substantial? Amazingly, might the force of love be a vital energy as important as life itself? Could it be possible that love may even literally make the world go around?

Love is the center of our attachments. It is the objective of our lives. Our well being, health and happiness, we think, relies upon our diets, our fitness, and our wealth. Yet none of these things mean anything without love. Love can make us glow and transform our lives. To be unloved turns us painfully into beings without purpose and direction. Isn't it true that love is the basic force that unites us in our families and relationships? Parents don't care for a child simply because they ought to. They care for that child because of and through love. We are united to our siblings and our families not through duty, but through love. That same feeling extends outwards through our friends and even our neighbors. It is the force that enables us to form and live in communities. It becomes clear very quickly that amour is the fabric of our society.

Unconditional love for one another has nothing to do with sex, exploitation, or subjugation. Real love will not allow these things to operate or function. To love unconditionally is to be completely selfless and focus on others. To be unloved is to be misunderstood, to be discarded. It is to suffer the loneliest of all fates; it is to be less than human, utterly miserable, and disconnected from the world. Love is the force that binds us all and drives us forward. When we love to do something don't we do it with passion, with care and with enthusiasm? So much has been achieved in the world through love and the passion and commitment it forges inside us. To be out of love is to be at the bottom of despair and melancholy.
Now, in this paragraph, speaker F is going to persuade the audience to feel the meaning of love and try to feel how to love. Fall in love and we have the energy to work day and night, to move mountains. There is a fountain of love energy in every person. Depression, illness, and anxiety can all be battled against with love. Negative thoughts can be changed into positive ones. Love is simply the most powerful force in all our lives.

We can let this force work for us or try and repress it. You can let love into your life or pretend that it does not exist. Doing so will only make you the most miserable lonely figure of despair. Love, because you want to change things. Love will alter the way you see the world and through that, the way the world is. Love, not because you expect something in return. Love what you do. Love to learn new things, to meet and to know others, to understand and to help. Love makes the world go round. It is why we are here and what we are all looking for.

In this sentence, speaker H is informing us about how music affects learning.
Did you know that your choice of music could affect your learning? Music affects many areas of our lives including learning. Today, speaker H will talk about how music affects us emotionally and physically, which will lead us to how it influences us academically.

For the next sentence, before we can understand how music affects learning, speaker H asks us to understand how it affects us both emotionally and physically. According to Judith Turner in an article she wrote for Music Therapy in 2001 where music affects how we feel is and also alters us physically. In addition, speaker H wants to inform us that how can us make music work for us? Here are a few suggestions, as listed in the article written by Judith Turner mentioned above is music that has 30-60 beats per minute will help relieve stress and get us focused. Also, music with 60-90 beats per minute has been shown to promote creativity.

Music affects how we relate to one another and how we relate to the world around us. Music had the key to help us become one of the smartest person who ever lived. Perhaps music holds the key to help us maximize our potential for learning as well.

Topic: HIV/AIDS education

This sentence attract my attention to read this speech "Have you ever saved a drowning child? One of my friends did in Okinawa some years ago."

In this sentence, speaker S was informing his audience about the important to take AIDS seriously. You may think that HIV-AIDS is mainly a problem for developing countries in Africa or South Asia. But it’s not a problem just for them. Infection rates are rising in Japan. In fact, Japan is the only industrialized country where HIV/AIDS infection rates rose last year. Some people think this is a problem for hospitals or the government. As you know, most people who got AIDS 20 years ago got it from blood transfusions. Today, the blood supply is safe, and now the main source of infection is sexual contact. This tragic situation does not have to continue. All of us have the responsibility to help stop it.

In this sentence, speaker S persuade her audiences.
One way to do this is to start a “Circle for AIDS Study and Teaching”, as some students did at Nanzan University in Nagoya. They wanted to learn more about this disease, and they thought other students would too. One of their main activities is visiting junior and senior high schools to give lectures. The organizer of the group, Maki Kawai, says, “As we are students, we know how boring it can be to take an academic class. AIDS is a serious theme to deal with. So you have to twist this seriousness.” In other words, they make learning fun and interesting. And in doing so they are taking HIV/AIDS seriously. Members also know how to have fun on their own. They have parties, and they’ve also volunteered at community events, which raise money for different charitable groups. The groups get money, and the circle members get a lot of satisfaction.

This sentence is using by speaker S to entertained her audiences. What do I mean by taking AIDS seriously? It means educating yourself about safe sex and telling others about it. When people have knowledge, they have power. As more and more people understand how HIV is transmitted and how to prevent that, the infection rates will go down.

thank you.

TOPIC :The Truth About Caffeine

In this point, speaker A was informing his audience about detail information of Caffeine. How many of you here considers yourself caffeine addicts? How much coffee do you drink a day? One cup? Two cups? More? How about caffeinated sodas? Caffeine is pervasive in our society these days and every few months we hear about how a study has shown that it is bad for us or good for us. What are we to believe?

Now, speaker A is trying to get his audience about the fact of this caffeine. Today I'd like to give you some of the facts about caffeine and its effects on your body. It may not cause you to change your coffee consumption but at least you'll be better informed about what you are putting into your body. I’m going to talk about the beneficial effects of caffeine, the negative effects and discuss what are considered safe levels of caffeine consumption. Let’s start with the good news. Caffeine, which comes from the leaves, seeds and fruits of about 63 different plants, is well known as a stimulant. That's why people drink it, right?

In this sentence, speaker A is trying to get his audience to the importance and useful of Caffeine. Caffeine does help you wake up and feel more alert and it has been shown to increase attention spans. This is a beneficial effect for people who are driving long distances and for people who are doing tedious work. Calling this a health benefit may be stretching it, though staying awake while you are driving a car is definitely a benefit to your well-being! Caffeine also contains antioxidants which have been shown to have cancer prevention qualities.

Next, speaker A is trying to get his audience about the negative effect. The negative effects of caffeine are largely dependent on how much you consume. When consumed in small quantities like, for example when you have one cup of coffee or one soda, caffeine can cause your heart rate to increase, you urinate more which can cause dehydration, and your digestive system produces more acid. In larger amounts, caffeine can cause you to have headaches, feel restless and nervous, be unable to sleep, and even, in very large quantities to have hallucinations.(Don't try that at home!) When larger amounts of caffeine (over 600 mg per day) are used over long periods of time you can develop sleep problems, get depressed and have problems with your digestive system. According to a Medline article on the National Institutes of Health website, having caffeine in your diet is not of any benefit to your health but moderate consumption is also not considered harmful. They say that having up to 3 eight ounce cups of coffee a day or 250 mg of caffeine is considered (quote) "average or moderate". 10 cups of coffee a day is considered excessive. Also, remember that the amount of caffeine per cup can vary greatly depending on the type of beans that are used and the strength of the brew. Most sodas with caffeine, unless they are specially enhanced like "Jolt" or something like that, have about 35 mg of caffeine per 8 ounces so you don't have to worry too much unless you are drinking several 2 liter bottles per day. Also, the effect of caffeine on you personally will depend on a number of factors like your weight, general health, mood and personal sensitivity to caffeine.

Lastly. audience can see that caffeine can have both positive and negative effects on our health and well-being but the bottom line is that if you drink your coffee or sodas in moderation, you don't have to worry too much’s, the next time you are wondering whether you should have that second cup of coffee to perk you up, relax. At least now you know what it is and isn't doing to you!

Thank you...

As soon as you realize that something is wrong with your state of mind, turn to help without hesitation.

Start with a small goal and fulfill it: go to a shop, take a short walk, or make a telephone call. Just start taking action and stick to doing it. Second, develop supportive relationship, turning to people who love you and whom you love. Refrain from retreating into yourself, sharing a meal, emailing, accompanying your friend to the movies, confide in a counselor or clergy member. Third, get interested in your own life. For this, have eight hours of sleep, practice relaxation techniques, and go easy on your self. Fourth, get regular exercise. Fifth, eat healthy food. Topic: How Humor Heals

In this sentence,speaker P is
informing her audience about how humor can help to heal our negative thoughts in life. "One way that humor can help to heal is that it literally changes our outlook on life. As we laugh, we have trouble seeing life's difficulties the same way. Suddenly, our problems don't seem quite as bad. Humor allows one to distance himself from a painful physical or medical situation while also acknowledging
that he
is in such a situation".

Next, speaker P is trying to get his audience to realize that life is not always full of pain and sorrow but we can make it as colourful as rainbows. "Seeing the humor in our painful or emotional situations can free us from the chains we have built around ourselves, helping us to recognize that life is more than anger or pain or sorrow, but that it is full of humor and the contagious sound of laughter".

Last but not least, speaker P entertain his audience by using quotation from Han Solo. So,in the words of the great Han Solo, "Laugh it up, fuzzball.".

Title : Acupuncture

In this paragraph speaker S want to inform user about acupuncture that is medically proven treatment. "According to the Encyclopedia Britannia, acupuncture is an ancient Chinese medical technique for relieving pain and curing disease. It has been successfully in Asian cultures for more than 2,500 years. Acupuncture is endorsed by American mainstream medicine as well as by international organizations. In 1997, a panel of scientist and researchers at the National Institutes of Health determined that acupuncture had been clinically proven to be effective against a variety of medical problems and disease. I will describe these later in my speech. A National Institutes of Health Conference on Acupuncture stated "The data in support of acupuncture are as strong as those for many accepted Western medical therapies." The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reclassified acupuncture needles from "experimental devices" to the same category as medical and surgical instruments. This clearly show that the FDA endorses acupuncture as a respected medical treatment"

Next paragraph speaker S want to persuade audience to use this treatment with tell the audience that acupuncture is safe and painless. " According to the Medical Acupuncture Online Journal, acupuncture is extremely safe with virtually no chances of any side effects. Many patients become addicted to pain medicines which can have serious effects. This won't happen with acupuncture. According to the book Acupuncture for Everyone by Dr.Ruth Kidsor, acupuncture is an effective treatment for pain, and it is not addictive. Also there is absolutely no risk of catching any type of communicable disease from acupuncture needles. This is because modern acupuncturist use only sterilized, individually packaged needles which they throw away when they are done with each treatment. The same needles are never use twice.

Acupuncture also treats a variety of disease and other physical conditions. It has be proven to help people with allergies, asthma, and heart problem. It has allowed previously infertile couples to conceive a child. It even helps people with insomnia to sleep better at night

Title: Stop Smoking.

In this sentence, speaker y is informing his audience about smoking is not only bad for health it is also as bad for the people
around smoker.Breathing other people's smoke is called passive, involuntary or
secondhand smoking. The non-smoker breathes "side stream" smoke from the burning tip of the cigarette and "mainstream" smoke that has been inhaled and then exhaled by the smoker. Secondhand smoke is a major
source of indoor air pollution.

In this sentence, speaker y is trying to get his audience to know what are the effect of smoking. Some of the immediate effects of passive smoking include eye irritation, headache, cough, sore throat, dizziness and nausea. Adults with asthma can experience a significant decline in lung function when exposed, while new cases of asthma may be induced in children whose parents smoke. Short term exposure to tobacco smoke also has a measurable effect on the heart in non-smokers.Passive smoking increases the risk of lower respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis, pneumonia and bronchitis in children. One study found that in households where both parents smoke, young children have a 72 per cent increased risk of respiratory illnesses. Passive smoking causes a reduction in lung function and increased severity in the symptoms of asthma in children, and is a risk factor for new cases of asthma in children. Passive smoking is also associated with middle ear infection in children as well as possible cardiovascular impairment and behavioral problems.

Smoking is one of the most preventable causes of death in our society. About one in five deaths in the US are results from using tobacco. About half all of smokers between of 35 and 69 die ahead of time the new smokers replace them. Smokers could be losing an average of 20 to 25 years of their life. Sometime I'm around an adult that smokes and when he smokes, it makes the house smell awful. I have many reasons to why I think smoker should stop their bad habit.

Topic: When the Police Become the Criminals

In this paragraph, speaker A is inform n our times, the police have become the criminals. Some police are using their power to do bad things, and society has come to fear police. The law enforcement system needs change. The courts have failed the police, and the police have turn to other means of justice. We must stop the corruption in the police force. I have respect for the police, and the job they do. Policemen are a selected few who do a dangerous job. Police have done many great things to help improve communities, help people during their off duty hours and stand strong in face of many fears. The police trying to enforce the law are on the streets in all types of weather. Instead of being at home with their families on holidays they are working to keep peace. Everyday, they step out in a world where violence is considered appropriate.

On next paragraph, speaker A is persuade his audience that Across America, police have been involved in scandals and drugs. They are abusing the power that they have been given. The communities have begun not to trust the police because of their conduct toward the citizens. People have been beaten and harassed by the guys in blue. People in the communities have seen the police push individuals around and take things from individuals for no reason. People receive the wrong message. The public no longer can see a difference between the police and criminals. Problems like police corruption have no easy answer. However, there are steps to target the root of the problem. We must start by holding officers accountable for their actions. If an officer uses too much force, he should be put on probation. The people must show the police that misconduct will not be tolerated. The attitudes must change within the departments. When the departments no longer ignore the complaints of excessive force, then the police's attitudes will begin to change. Screening of officers needs to be done more often. More psychologists and criminologists are needed to spot those officers who are in trouble or on the brink of mental illness. A good start would be to teach the superior officers to recognize warning signs like lateness or angry mode swings.

Lastly, speaker A convince the audience that many problems between the police and citizens are miscommunication. Critics say, "Racial and social classes have become a difficult problem because of communication". Education is important for changing things. "The academy should teach classes on communication and corruption. The classes can help new officers deal with many problems that they will face in the field. Policing needs to meet the challenges with racial and social classes". Police should be paid a better salary. They need enough income to run a house and finance a family without having to take a second job. A higher income would help to take away some of the money pressure for policemen. Local police officers make about $19,200 a year. The salary may vary from location to location. Police corruption is a problem that everyone needs to address. Corruption affects us in many ways from driving to feeling safe. The public may not know the causes for the problem, but there is no reason for the corruption to continue. The law enforcement system may never be perfect, but improvements may promote public support and cooperation. The public, government officials and law enforcement departments must work together to combat the problems of corruption.

First of all, you should choose the place where the fan will be located. It is recommended that the ceiling fan is placed in the center of the ceiling, as far as it allows the flows of air spread all over the room. The next step is the identification of the blade clearance. So, you should measure the distance from floor to ceiling and distract the height of the fan. 1. You should turn off the power to prevent the electrical strike from happening;
2. Then you should identify the center of the ceiling - if there was not light fixture in the center, you should identify it by yourself. Mark two cross lines on the ceiling from each of four corners of the room. The place where they cross is the center of the ceiling.
3. You should install the junction box. In some cases it can be screwed to the joist. Otherwise, the box should be put into the hole cut particularly for this case;
4. The next step is the installation of the hanger brackets. They have to be installed in the box with the help of screws and washers;
5. Then, wire the unit. Remember that white house wires should be connected to the white fan wires, while the black house wires should be connected to the black fan wires.
6. At last, the fan should be electrically grounded to both the fan and the metal box.

The speaker wants the audience to see the results after the installation of the ceiling fan. When there had an error, the audience should recheck the condition and the maintenance of the fan that maybe had been damaged. After that, audience can use the fan wisely and comfortably.

Persuasive speech : Organ donation

In this paragraph, speaker X is informing the audience to donate their organs and tissues when they die and to act upon their decision to donate.People around the world but also right here in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Illinois, need organ transplants and they need our help. The problem is that there is a lack of organs and organ donors who make organ transplantation possible. The need is many organs and tissues such as the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, pancreas, corneas, bone, skin, heart valves, and blood vessels(Iowa Statewide Organ Procurement Organization undated brochure). A new name is added to the national waiting list every 16 minutes. That means that 3 people will be added to the list during the time we are in class today. The problem is that 10 people will die each day waiting for an organ transplant (LifeSource: Questions and Answers). The reason is that are only on the average 5,000 donors nationally per year (LifeSource: Statistics). So,you can choose to donate any needed organs or you can specify which organs or tissues you wish to donate.

Next paragraph, Speaker X is persuade the audience about the important of organ donation. Organ donation is very important. Not only is this a problem nationally but also it is a big problem right here at home in the Midwest.
Nationally, there are over 62,000 people waiting as of October 7, 1998. As of October 7, 1998, there are 1,422 people from Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and part of Wisconsin that are on the organ waiting list (LifeSource: Statistics).
The sad part is that there have only been 104 donors in the Midwest so far from January 1998 through August 1998 (LifeSource: Newsnotes). This is how you go about making sure your organs are donated.
Talk with your family about your decision. They will be involved in the donation arrangements when you die. If they do not know your wishes of becoming a donor, your wishes may never be carried out. Mark your driver’s license so that your license indicates your intent to donate. Each state varies.Fill out, sign and carry a uniform donor card with you. This donor card says what organs you wish to have donated and also has places for your family members to sign as witnesses after you have discussed your decision with them (Gundersen Lutheran Hospital [LaCrosse, WI] undated brochure).

Lastly, Speaker X convince the audience donating your organs can be one of the most important decisions you ever make and also the greatest gift you could ever give.I’ve told you about the need for organ donors in our area, how you can become an organ donor after you die, and finally, how your family and organ recipients benefit from your donation. You become a donor by talking to your family and making sure they know you want to be a donor, fill out and sign a donor card, and indicate your wishes on your driver’s license.I’m going to leave you with a short message from Michael Jordan who is a sponsor for the Iowa LifeGift Coalition on Organ and Tissue Donor Awareness and appears in their 1996 brochure. "Please make the decision to become an organ and tissue donor. Remember: Share your life. Share your decision."

INFORMATIVE SPEECH : Avian flu

In this sentence, speaker Q is informing his audience about the first six months of 2004, approximately 200 million birds died or were destroyed in attempt to stop the pandemic of avian influenza. In United Nations coordinator, Dr David Nabarro, estimated the number of possible human casualties as 5-150 million people. Aware that since its discovery in the 1990-ies the avian flu has been contracted by more than 100 people, and one half of them died . Such figure may appear too abstract, as well as the avian flu itself raging somewhere on the other side of the world. In people corner of the world everything is fine, most of people love chicken meat, and are not going to deny ourselves a Mac Chicken on week-ends. But the eye-opener for people all is the fact that the avian flu epidemic is much closer to America than it seems. If it strikes, no one listening to this speech will be immune, and "there won't be Tamiflu or hospital beds for everybody", the officials say . So the thesis is that the only way of prevention of an avian flu epidemic in the USA is inoculation. The vaccine was synthesized by the National Institutes of Health, and it creates a protective immunity in the human organism in two rounds of inoculation . The truth is that it won't cure an infected individual, but it will prevent a disease. At the moment there is no treatment for the human modification of the avian flu. The medication called "Tamilflu", elaborated by Roche Pharmaceutical in Switzerland, can only "slow the ability of the virus to overwhelm your body and make lots of copies of itself and that buys you time to develop appropriate immunity and kill it off", if taken in the first 36 hours.

In this sentence, speaker Q is trying to get his audience to take care of our self right now.
The global matters are actually in the hands of every individual. If everyone will be immune to the disease, the pandemic won't break in. We just need to be inoculated in order to prevent an infection that can kill 150 million people. Our future depends on our choice. Choose life before it is too late. Choose vaccination.

Euro-2012
In this paragraph, speaker Y is informing his audience about in April 2007, Ukraine and Poland were named co-hosts for Euro 2012 tournament. This joint bid, taking into account Ukraine's tough economic condition and administration problems, has become a headache for UEFA President Michel Platini. The matches will be staged at eight venues, divided between the co-host countries. Ukraine is behind the schedule, having problems with modernization of airports, roads, and rail networks. As a co-host country, Poland seems to be doing better than Ukraine. Yet, it also has lots of problems. Platini made it clear that without modern stadiums in capital cities, Warsaw and Kiev, neither Poland nor Ukraine would host Euro-2012.

Platini persuades Europe that football will develop in the East to an unimagined level after Euro-2012. It is true that football is very popular in Poland and in the countries of the former Soviet Union. Football teams have rich sponsors and good training centers. Their football stars for leading football clubs, like Andrei Shevchenko, a world-class star of the Ukrainian origin. Warsaw's preparation for Euro-2012 is in full swing. The National Stadium in Warsaw is being constructed. Although the winter was not favorable for construction, much had been done to construct the stadium's diaphragm. The UEFA delegation visited Vrozlaw to assess the capacities of its airport and hotel accommodation. The new air terminal's capacity will be seven million passengers yearly. A Polish-Greek consortium will build a stadium in Vroclaw with a stand for 42000 spectators. The Olympic stadium in Kiev is being reconstructed as well. Ukraine started to build a stadium in Lwow. Ukrainian authorities promise to finish the construction on time.

In this sentence, speaker Y is trying to get his audience to know the final list of city-hosts will have been prepared by the middle of May 2009. Each country hopes to host at least four venues. For example, besides Ukraine's capital Kiev it may be Donetsk whose construction sites are sponsored by local oligarchs, owners of the local sports club "Shakhtar". It may be Lwow that borders on Poland and has historical places under UNESCO protection.

Poland and Ukraine were a surprise choice for Euro-2012, and Ukraine, in particular, still is. Football fans expect a lot from Euro-2012. There may be inconveniences, like unsatisfactory infrastructure in Ukraine. Poland could organize Euro-2012 alone. Ukraine as a co-host is a political decision that is more symbolic than pragmatic.

Persuasive Speech Topic: Air Pollution

In this sentence, speaker D is informing his audience about pollutants in the air are a serious environmental issue today. We have also seen on the news, read in the newspaper, or experienced in our own lives some of the harmful consequences that result from these pollutants.Regulations have been established in an attempt to minimize these harmful air pollutants. For example, we have vehicle emissions testing and standards for pollutant emitting facilities.

Federal involvement began in 1970 with the introduction of the Clean Air Act. In the nearly 30 years it has been in effect it has undergone some changes, but the purpose has remained the same: " to establish and enforce air quality standards that protect public health with an adequate margin of safety" (Huebner and Chilton). The standards outlined in the Clean Air Act state that the "Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) must promulgate secondary National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) necessary to protect the public welfare. "Public Welfare" includes effects on soils, water, crops, animals, weather, visibility, economic values, and personal comfort and well-being (Env Law). Being protected from harmful pollutants under a federal statute should bring comfort -- but are we really protected?

Should this be of serious concern to you? Can you get sick breathing indoor air? Can you die? What can you do to protect yourself? Can you get retribution in a court of law? Would you even have any legal standing?

In this sentence, speaker D is trying to get his audience to resulting Health problems from poor indoor air quality occur very frequently. The causes of sick building syndrome include: inadequate ventilation, chemical contaminants from indoor sources, chemical contaminants from outdoor sources, and biological contaminants.

Carbon monoxide poisoning is also a serious building related illness. Carbon monoxide is a colorless odorless gas that is the result of an incomplete combustion of carbon burning in the air. "The most well known symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning are headaches and nausea, but long term moderate exposure can cause other symptoms, including flu-like symptoms" (Byrd).

Carbon monoxide can be a problem in any building or home because the items that can produce this gas are quite ordinary.
Carbon monoxide poisoning, on the other hand, is not common in hospitals but can quickly harm even the healthiest of people. However, healthy people rarely fall victim to Legionnaire's disease, Pontiac Fever, or Aspergillus. It is unfortunate that when hospitalized to get well, we face the risk of the development of an even worse condition due to contaminants in the air.

It is so important to be aware of the dangers that we face through air pollution and its biological contaminants. Measures should be taken that could drastically reduce exposure to contaminants created from poor indoor air quality. People also need to be educated, especially in the hospital sense, because awareness is a key factor to prevention.

When faced with a hospital stay and a weakened immune system - talk to doctors, become familiar with the treatment provided, and become informed of construction or other air quality hazards within the hospital. And remember, people receiving immune-weakening treatments such as radiation, chemotherapy, and transplantation should not have or accept live plants or flowers in their homes or hospital rooms. For now, the best defense is to be knowledgeable and be aware.

Thank you

Speech By:

In this paragraph, speaker A would like to inform the audience the cruel by Israel's military towards people in Gaza.
"The recent wanton slaughter of innocent men, women and children in Gaza by Israel’s military, supported principally by the United States, Britain and the European Union is another sordid example of the brutality of the strong against the weak and illustrates also the double standards, hypocrisy and the failure by the international community to condemn the crimes committed by the most powerful military power in the Middle-East against the long suffering defenceless Palestinians."

For the next paragraph, speaker A explain to the audience that why people said that Israeli is a people who has no feeling. they kill a mother and 2 children with no hard feeling.
"One soldier described the case of an Israeli sharpshooter who killed a Palestinian mother and her two children who had left their home on a path the troops had declared off limits, according to the journal of the Yitzhak Rabin pre-military academy."

In this paragraph, speaker A want audience to remind yourself of other people suffering.
"You may want to remind yourself that as a country with one people (Jews) the trouble that it has caused is horrendous. Ever since the country with one people was created there has been endless violence, conflicts and wars including the destruction of the World Trade Centre in New York and the acts of terrorism. "

In this paragraph, speaker A persuade people who involve to come up with solution and to resolve it to maintain the harmony of people in Palestin.
"We can help redeem all this if our meeting can come up with a proposal for a solution to the Palestinian tragedy. We cannot bring back the dead but we can prevent more deaths. And we can do this if we resolve here and now to bring the two parties together to discuss and to negotiate so as to return to the status quo ante, i.e. the recreation of a state where Arabs and Jews can live together in peace and at least relative harmony."

For the last paragraph, speaker A state to the audience that Palestin is no longer a peaceful place and there is no one can stop the israeli.
"In simple language, Palestine was stolen from the “non-Jewish communities” in Palestine and given to the minority Jewish community exclusively, to assuage the conscience of the Europeans. Topic : Human Cloning

In this paragraph speaker N is giving an introduction of the human cloning. Is human cloning immoral and unethical? I think so. Scientists are not even sure of the results of cloning or if it will even produce what is expected. Legalizing human cloning would take away individuality and could have many health risks.

On this paragraph, speaker N talks about what is about cloning and the unreasonable thing about human cloning. Science and technology are unable to solve everything. If human cloning is permitted, there is no guarantee that all the results will be controllable. Human cloning can possibly damage the future of human kind. During the process of cloning, many embryos are killed and scientists are not certain that the surviving embryos will develop normally. In human cloning all human beings would be identical, which means everyone would be at a high risk of getting infected by diseases. Humans contain many different types of genes. These genes come from parents who each have different sets of genes. Having a diversity of genes allows humans to adapt better in their environment and be more immune to diseases. Genes are what make each human an individual. If humans were all alike, no one would be able to express themselves. Along with a diversity of genes comes immunity; human cloning would take away this characteristic.

Speaker N tells about the effects of cloning a human. Human cloning can produce many health risks. Cloning carries a high risk of producing abnormal babies. The genetic material could possibly keep aging while the baby is in the womb and cause premature death. In some cases, it could take years to see that a clone had abnormalities. Cloning humans has many bad effects and can ruin the lives of some people. If cloning is permitted, there is a risk of producing uncontrollable results. In the process of cloning a human diversity of genes is lost, producing individuals who are the same with no unique characteristics. Cloning also has a possibility of many health risks leading to abnormalities in humans.

Conclusion that has been made from the speaker N is all humans are unique and should be able to keep their uniqueness without the interference of technology.

TOPIC: America must play its role in ushering in a new era of peace.
SPEECH BY: Barrack Obama

In first paragraph, speaker A thanked to the President Bush and show the statistics.

"I stand here today humbled by the task before us, grateful for the trust you have bestowed, mindful of the sacrifices borne by our ancestors. I thank President Bush for his service to our nation, as well as the generosity and cooperation he has shown throughout this transition.
Forty-four Americans have now taken the presidential oath. The words have been spoken during rising tides of prosperity and the still waters of peace. Yet, every so often, the oath is taken amidst gathering clouds and raging storms. At these moments, America has carried on not simply because of the skill or vision of those in high office, but because We the People have remained faithful to the ideals of our fore bearers, and true to our founding documents."

Next paragraph, speaker A tell what happen to their country and what problem that they are facing just now.

"These are the indicators of crisis, subject to data and statistics. Less measurable but no less profound is a sapping of confidence across our land -- a nagging fear that America's decline is inevitable, and that the next generation must lower its sights.
That we are in the midst of crisis is now well understood. Our nation is at war, against a far-reaching network of violence and hatred. Our economy is badly weakened, a consequence of greed and irresponsibility on the part of some, but also our collective failure to make hard choices and prepare the nation for a new age. Homes have been lost; jobs shed; businesses shuttered. Our health care is too costly; our schools fail too many; and each day brings further evidence that the ways we use energy strengthen our adversaries and threaten our planet."

This paragraph, speaker A trying to persuade people to be together develop the country.

"Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America: They will be met.
On this day, we gather because we have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord.
On this day, we come to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn-out dogmas, that for far too long have strangled our politics.
We remain a young nation, but in the words of Scripture, the time has come to set aside childish things. The time has come to reaffirm our enduring spirit; to choose our better history; to carry forward that precious gift, that noble idea, passed on from generation to generation: the God-given promise that all are equal, all are free, and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness."

for the conclusion, speaker A wants all people to unite for the country.

"So let us mark this day with remembrance, of who we are and how far we have traveled. In the year of America's birth, in the coldest of months, a small band of patriots huddled by dying campfires on the shores of an icy river. The capital was abandoned. The enemy was advancing. The snow was stained with blood."

TITLE SPEECH: IMPORTANT OF EXERCISE

In this paragraph, speaker F is informing his audience about a study published in the November 2002 issue of the Annals of Epidemiology found that physical activity levels were more important than body weight in determining a person's risk of death. They also found that moderate levels of physical activity were sufficient to lower the risk of death from all causes. This suggests that adding physical activity to your lifestyle can benefit your health more than dieting can, no matter what your current weight.

Next paragraph speaker F trying to get his audience to persuade people to exercise by list the important of exercise. Our bodies were meant to move and they actually crave exercise. Regular exercise is necessary for physical fitness and good health. It reduces the risk of heart disease, cancer, high blood pressure, diabetes and other diseases. It can improve your appearance and delay the aging process. Exercise is also a key to weight control because it burns calories. If you burn off more calories than you take in, you lose weight. It's as simple as that. When you exercise, your body uses energy to keep going. Aerobic exercise involves continuous and rhythmic physical motion, such as walking and bicycling. It improves your stamina by training your body to become more efficient and use less energy for the same amount of work.

People often assume that more is better. Wrong! Doing too much too soon or performing intense exercises on a daily basis will have deleterious effects, such as muscle/tendon strains, loss of lean tissue, and fitness-level plateaus. But a "stop-start" routine is not only ineffective, but can cause injuries. So you should being consistent with exercise, therefore, is probably the most important factor in achieving desired results.

Topic: Organ Donation

In this point, speaker M is getting attention of audience to her speech. Many people today have mixed feelings about organ donation. The decision to donate is an ethical decision that concerns two different aspects. One is whether or not to donate one’s own organs. Two is whether or not to donate the organs of a relative. A person needs to think through these issues well before the decision needs to be made. You also need to understand what actually happens to your organs once they are donated. Do unto others as you would want done to you. If you were in need or an organ would you feel the same way? How would you feel if you were in need of a donation and one was not available to you?

In this point, speaker M explain to audience about why think about the ethic of donation. The decision whether of not to donate organs is an ethical decision. The problem with ethical beliefs is that there is not one correct belief system. The ethical decision to donate or not varies to each individual. One aspect that may hinder a person’s decision is the way that we understand how the body will be treated after death. The treatment of a dead boy plays an important role in the decision of different spiritual, cultural, religious, and non-religious beliefs.

Another issue is the question of donation that usually arises after a sudden or traumatic death and the feelings of the family are the utmost important. Also the issue of people and how they think this is there last act of good doing. In Judaism it is believed that donation is a “mitzot”, or only good deed that an individual can perform after death (Organ Donation, 1989). People need to discuss organ donation with their family members now so that when the time or ones death comes either expected or not it will be easier to make the decision on organ donation.

This paragraph, speaker M share to audience on what happen when they decide donate organ. The actual procedures and process of organ donation vary from hospital to hospital. After someone has died and the death is confirmed, if there is family present they are asked if they knew the patients wishes about donation. If the patient did not express how they believed about organ donation then the family has the opportunity to make such a decision. The family also has the option to choose which organs to donate. When donation is agreed on then blood tests are given which are paid for by the hospitals. The family also needs to consent to an autopsy. You also have to address the idea of the Islam religion in which they are permitted to donate organs as long as it has been written prior to the donor’s death. Also is in Islam religion organs can not be stored in organ banks. There are different precautions and different considerations that you need to consider when you are discussing organ donation. The actual process varies from hospital to hospital and state to state.

This paragraph, speaker M tell about making donating the organs of a relative. When deciding about donating the organs of a relative you need to consider the ethical issues involved. There are different circumstances that you need to consider. One is you aware of the wishes of the relative who died.Did you know whether or not organ donation was an option that this person was even considering? Then you have to look at whether or not you are going to carry out the wishes of that individual.A second scenario is that the person has expressed outwardly that they wanted to be an organ donation and had already signed the appropriate paperwork. In this case most of the time, unless you can get a court order to stop the process, they will follow the wishes of the relative. The family needs to discuss with the doctors what they can donate, understand that the person they have lost is dead and there is no chance of survival, and how they can benefit the lives of many other individuals.

In conclusion, speaker M summarize the speech and persuade audience to donate organ. There are many different ethical factors that play an important role in the decision whether of not to donate organs. I think that you need to sit down with your family and discuss the importance of organ donation and what you want done with your body when you die. If the donation of one person can save or better the lives of one to 75 people imagine how more people donating will affect our country. You also need to take into consideration the beliefs of many different religions and their beliefs. In this sentence, speaker M try to give story on her experience.I have an aunt who would not be here today if it was not for a liver transplant.I never really thought about the concept of donating my organs until I saw her in the hospital. I am an organ donor and my family knows that I want to donate my organs. Are you an organ donor and does your family know your wishes.

Topic : Why Marijuana over Tobacco?

In the first paragraph, speaker V informing the audience about the facts between marijuana and tobacco - About 50 percent of incoming college freshmen have admitted to using marijuana. And about 40 percent of them smoke it on a regular basis. The question is why is marijuana illegal and tobacco legal? Marijuana has been known as a “gateway drug”, meaning it leads to use of other harder drugs. This is not true. It truly depends on the person whether they are going to do other drugs. People who smoke marijuana do not have a higher chance of getting addicted or even trying cocaine or heroin than non-users. Many negative facts have been told of marijuana, mostly by the tobacco industry, which are false. Why is the tobacco industry so concerned with marijuana and its negative effects? It is because the tobacco industry is trying to take some of the attention off of their product and point the finger at marijuana. Marijuana is healthier, safer, and has more medical use than tobacco does. Most illegal drugs, such as cocaine and heroin, are mixed with many different chemicals, but not marijuana. Marijuana is grown from the ground. No chemicals are added during or after the growing process, just sunlight and water is needed for the plant to grow. Once the plant reaches its peak, it is taken down and hung up to dry for a long period of time. After that it is ready to be enjoyed and smoked by its users. But in tobacco they mix in many unneeded harmful chemicals. One of these chemicals is nicotine, which is highly addictive. This is the chemical that keeps the tobacco smokers coming back for more, and more, which keeps the tobacco companies happy and well paid.

In this second paragraph, speaker V telling audience that marijuana in medical and tobacco is useless. - Medical marijuana has been used for years. It has been found as far back as 1,600 years ago. Marijuana was used for many different reasons. Patients suffering from glaucoma may receive marijuana to ease the pain in the eyes. For patients in chemotherapy marijuana has been used to give them their appetites back and reduce the nausea. People with severe headaches may also be prescribed marijuana. Marijuana can be used on patients with sleeping or eating disorders too. Yet in most states it is illegal to even prescribe marijuana. But yet in 1988 our own DEA’s administrative Judge Frances Young said, “Marijuana is one of the safest therapeutically active substances known to man.” He also said “marijuana in its natural form is far safer than many foods we commonly consume” (National Academy Press). Tobacco has no medical uses at all. Some say it relieves stress and helps reduce the appetite. Other than that, tobacco has no use of any kind at all.

In the third paragraph, speaker V telling the audience that marijuana can make us intelligent. - Many people think that marijuana makes you less intelligent. The largest study of cannabis to date showed that they are wrong. It was proven that heavy long-term users scored slightly higher on IQ tests, had a lower illness rate, lower chance of developing cancer, and an increased life span compared to non-users. So smoking some marijuana before a test actually will increase your ability to think. In fact, it said the cannabis smokers have been known to outlive non-smokers by up to 2 years.

In the last paragraph, speaker V making a conclusion for the audience. - Nothing is wrong with smoking marijuana for any reason at all, but using tobacco is just suicide. What you have been told in the past may contradict the facts about marijuana. Smoking tobacco makes no sense and needs to be stopped. So do not just stand there in the tobacco smoke filled room and get out and smoke some marijuana but not a lot.

Thanks.

Persuasive speech
topic : stress

(In this paragraph, speaker k will inform to the audience factor of stress)
How to Deal With StressMany students go to school full time, and hold a part time job to earn money for school. Most students have about four classes, and each of the teacher's of these classes gives an average of about an hour of homework each night; that averages out to four hours per night of homework, plus a part time job. School causes a lot of students stress because there are so many things to do, and so little time to do it. Stress is a normal part of everyone's life; and is not a disease. It is not necessarily good or bad; however, reactions to stress can be harmful. Lack of time puts the stress on many students, and causes students to often procrastinate because they are constantly trying to meet deadlines and they don't have the time to work on their assignments. Many students feel their grades are important; they need plenty of time to work on their work so they can do good. I can relate to them because if I get a low grade I get disgusted because I put a lot of time and effort in doing that assignment. But I think that a lot of the stress from school is caused, not only by the teachers, but also from the students to do well. Students put too much stress on themselves. A student just has to learn to manage their time well and just do as good as possible. Stress management involves the effort of that student to make emotional and physical changes. The degree of stress and the desire to make the changes will determine the level of change that will take place. If a student wants to change the amount of stress in their life, they have to be willing to work and manage their time properly, even if it means sacrificing hours from a job or a night out with friends to study for a test or write a paper.

(Next, speaker k will tell about overcoming the stress)
Overcoming Stress.Stress is one of the things suffer from every day. Stress is an element that induces bodily or mental tension. Overcoming stress can be difficult for people to deal with because of many of life’s situations. There are other ways to deal with stress. Some people choose to deal with it in a positive manner, while others may choose to negatively. I deal with stress by working out, talking to friends, and joking and laughing. One of my ways of dealing with stress is working out. After a long day, dealing with the stress of school and work, I end my day at the gym. Working out gives me alone time that I need to get away and to settle my mind mentality. Working out is good for my health and is overall Important. It keeps my body balanced physically and mentality. Another way I deal with stress is talking to a friend. Dealing with stress alone is always bad. There should always be someone you can talk to. Having a friend around is good so you want get lonely. Friends are good for advice. Friends understand some of the stressful situation you are going through. One of my last ways I deal with stress is laughter. Being entertained with jokes and laughter always changes my mood. I like to be around funny people that make me laugh. I could be having a bad day, then someone says something funny and it really lightens up my mood. I Believe laughter heals the heart and soul and it could change a lot of stressful thinking. Stress is an obstacle that many people tend to overlook, but there are many ways to overpower stress. I find that working out, talking with a friend and being entertained relieves stress. These remedies may not work for all, but they work for me.

(Last, speaker k will making a conclusion about stress for the audience)
Stress come to us and make us getting bad. So, it up to us how to overcome with it and make life feel better. You can manage well the stress if you know what the point that make you stress and know how to handle it.

Thank you.

History of chocolate

“Chocolate's history started over 2,000 years ago. It began in the tropical rainforests of Central and South America from the seed of the cacao tree. This small tree grows best in the tropical atmosphere because it receives the best amount of rain, shade, humidity, wind, and nutrients.”

In this paragraph the speaker X try to tell the audience the starting history or the origin of the chocolate.

“According to Susan J. Terrio, the author of Crafting the Culture and History of French Chocolate, the first people known to have made chocolate were the ancient cultures of Mexico and Central America. These people, including the Maya and Aztec, mixed ground cacao seeds with various seasonings to make a spicy, frothy drink. This was the very first way that chocolate was consumed.”

Speaker X is telling the audience on the condition or history of the people who create the chocolate based on a book that he/she has done the research on.

Antioxidants protect the body from aging caused by free radicals, which can cause damage that leads to heart disease. Dark chocolate contains a large number of antioxidants (nearly 8 times the number found in strawberries). Flavonoids also help relax blood pressure through the production of nitric oxide, and balance certain hormones in the body.”

Title:ALCOHOL

In first paragraph, speaker A start with getting the facts. "Just about everyone knows that the legal drinking age throughout the United States is 21. But according to the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse, almost 80% of high school students have tried alcohol.
Deciding whether to drink is a personal decision that we each eventually have to make. This article provides some information on alcohol, including how it affects your body, so you can make an educated choice."

In second paragraph, speaker A tell about what is alcohol? "Alcohol is created when grains, fruits, or vegetables are fermented. Fermentation is a process that uses yeast or bacteria to change the sugars in the food into alcohol. Fermentation is used to produce many necessary items — everything from cheese to medications. Alcohol has different forms and can be used as a cleaner, an antiseptic, or a sedative.
So if alcohol is a natural product, why do teens need to be concerned about drinking it? When people drink alcohol, it's absorbed into their bloodstream. From there, it affects the central nervous system (the brain and spinal cord), which controls virtually all body functions. Because experts now know that the human brain is still developing during our teens, scientists are researching the effects drinking alcohol can have on the teen brain."

In third paragraph, speaker A persuades audience on how can you avoid drinking? "If all your friends drink and you don't want to, it can be hard to say "no, thanks." No one wants to risk feeling rejected or left out. Different strategies for turning down alcohol work for different people. Some people find it helps to say no without giving an explanation, others think offering their reasons works better ("I'm not into drinking," "I have a game tomorrow," or "my uncle died from drinking," for example).
If saying no to alcohol makes you feel uncomfortable in front of people you know, blame your parents or another adult for your refusal. Saying, "My parents are coming to pick me up soon," "I already got in major trouble for drinking once, I can't do it again," or "my coach would kill me," can make saying no a bit easier for some.
If you're going to a party and you know there will be alcohol, plan your strategy in advance. You and a friend can develop a signal for when it's time to leave, for example. You can also make sure that you have plans to do something besides just hanging out in someone's basement drinking beer all night. Plan a trip to the movies, the mall, a concert, or a sports event. You might also organize your friends into a volleyball, bowling, or softball team — any activity that gets you moving.
Girls or guys who have strong self-esteem are less likely to become problem drinkers than people with low self-esteem."

Aggressive driving can be avoided
In this sentence, Bowens is informing his audience about more and more drivers have started acting out their anger when they get behind the wheel. According to a study conducted by the (American Automobile Association). The study of aggressive driving is not new (Williams,1) has received attention as a national concern. After they’ve been cut off, tailgated, or slowed down by a vehicle in front of them, these angry drivers can commit incredible acts of violence, including assaults and murder. A nationwide study by (NHTSA) of fatal crashes at traffic signals in 1999 and 2000 estimated that 20 percent of the vehicles involved failed to obey the signals. Failing to comply with traffic control devices is an indicator of aggressive driving. In 2004, more than 900 people were killed and an estimated 168,000 were injured in crashes that involved red light running. Every day we have to deal with these types of people on the road. We run a great risk whether on a long trip, or a short commute. Fortunately, there is something we can do about it.

In this sentence, Bowens is trying to get his audience on how to avoid being the target of aggressive drivers and how each of us can do to be part of the solution. Use your horn sparingly. If you must get someone's attention in a non-emergency situation, tap your horn lightly. Think twice before using your horn to say "hello" to a passing pedestrian; the driver in front of you may think you are honking at him. Don't blow your horn at the driver in front of you the second the light turns green. If a stressed-out motorist is on edge, the noise may set him off. Scores of shootings began with a driver honking the horn. Next, do not make eye contact. This can be seen as a challenging gesture and incite the other driver to violence. Instead, get out of the way but do not acknowledge the other driver. If a motorist pursues you, do not go home. Instead, drive to a police station, convenience store, or other location where you can get help and there will be witnesses.

In this sentence, Bowens entertain his audience with a conclusion of tonight we have looked at the trend of aggressive driving. We have seen that it is a growing problem throughout the nation. Aggressive driving creates a very real problem to our everyday lives. There are things we can do to ensure we don’t fall victim to aggressive drivers. Don’t become an aggressive driver, for too many motorists, driving becomes a contest. So instead of trying to “make good time,” try to make time good”.

Persuasive Speech Against Speeding (Fast Driving)

>>In this sentence speaker want to make the audience to imaging the situation with 2 question …

No body can deny the fact that going fast in cars is fun, and who hasn't experienced the feeling of the excitement rush in the veins when the wheels start running fast and things almost get out of control ?
And on the other hand, who hasn't gone through the sadness of losing a dear person due to fast driving, or even the sadness caused by hearing such stories?
As a matter of fact, although fast driving can seem pretty exciting and appealing, its consequences could really be tragic.

>> in this paragraph speaker informing his audience abou t accident with given some fact about accident , campaign, and injuries in oversea situation...

Car accidents are a major problem in Lebanon, and its numbers have reached high levels in the past few years. In addition, even though there has been lot of awareness campaigns done in Lebanon by different organizations such as YasaLebanon and Redcross, the ignorance persists and it has led to making the problem even worse. According to Yasa, 1941 car accidents in the year 1999, 357 death and 3528 injuries and these numbers increased in 2000, 2326 car accidents , 413 death and 3586 injuries.

>>in this sentence / paragraph speaker start to given negative effect of fasting driving.. (losing his life, risking one's life, injury or trauma, endangering the lives of other people)

Car accidents in general and especially those resulting from driving fast have many undesirable consequences, The most obvious one is the loss of one's life. A person could be risking losing his life for the sake of few moments of pleasure.

Taking a decision of risking one's life should be thought about keeping in mind the effect of it not only on one's self, but on others too.
Another result would be a major injury or trauma. A person could keep his life after a car accident, but would cause himself to get a severe injury, such as losing a limb, ability of normal functioning, certain scars on the body , etc. Such a result would be considered by some even more catastrophic than death.

Yet the most important consequence of fast driving would definitely be endangering the lives of other people. If one thinks he/she are allowed to act freely with their lives, they certainly are not allowed to threaten the lives of others.

>> this paragraph speaker telling real story about her friend to get his audience interested..

To this i can relate by saying a story that happened to a friend of mine.
Bilal, is a 20 year old friend who got handicapped because of such an incident. He was driving at a moderate speed when another car whose driver was going at a very higher speed suddenly hit him. Bilal had five surgeries so far to treat his condition, but yet, he is still unable to walk properly.

>>in this sentence speaker making conclusion about final effect of driving fast.

In conclusion, the results of driving fast could be really enormous whether it was one's life, health, or money. Also, affecting other people's lives would also be one of the consequences, if not the worse. If one is careless about his or her life, others are not. People should manage this problem logically, and think alot before attempting such a risky action.

>> in this sentence speaker given some advice to audience to avoided fast driving .

Don't think it might not happen to you, and i am sure that none of those who had car accidents thought that it might happen to them. One should not wait for these things to happen to him to learn from the mistakes. On the contrary, one should work on preventing them before it is too late .

informative speech
TOPIC : WHY IS EXERCISE IMPORTANT

Have you ever heard the expression "use it or lose it"? It's true! If you don't use your body, you will surely lose it. Your muscles will become flabby and weak. Your heart and lungs won't function efficiently. And your joints will be stiff and easily injured. Inactivity is as much of a health risk as smoking!

Helps Prevent Diseases
Our bodies were meant to move -- they actually crave exercise. Regular exercise is necessary for physical fitness and good health. It reduces the risk of heart disease, cancer, high blood pressure, diabetes and other diseases. It can improve your appearance and delay the aging process.

Improves Stamina
When you exercise, your body uses energy to keep going. Aerobic exercise involves continuous and rhythmic physical motion, such as walking and bicycling. It improves your stamina by training your body to become more efficient and use less energy for the same amount of work. As your conditioning level improves, your heart rate and breathing rate return to resting levels much sooner from strenuous activity.

Strengthens and Tones
Exercising with weights and other forms of resistance training develops your muscles, bones and ligaments for increased strength and endurance. Your posture can be improved, and your muscles become more firm and toned. You not only feel better, but you look better, too!

Enhances Flexibility
Stretching exercises are also important for good posture. They keep your body limber so that you can bend, reach and twist. Improving your flexibility through exercise reduces the chance of injury and improves balance and coordination. If you have stiff, tense areas, such as the upper back or neck, performing specific stretches can help "loosen" those muscles, helping you feel more relaxed.

Controls Weight
Exercise is also a key to weight control because it burns calories. If you burn off more calories than you take in, you lose weight. It's as simple as that.

Improves Quality of Life
Once you begin to exercise regularly, you will discover many more reasons why exercise is so important to improving the quality of your life. Exercise reduces stress, lifts moods, and helps you sleep better. It can keep you looking and feeling younger throughout your entire life.
How Often Should I Exercise?

The benefits of any exercise program will diminish if it's disrupted too frequently. A "stop-start" routine is not only ineffective, but can cause injuries. Being consistent with exercise, therefore, is probably the most important factor in achieving desired results.

People often assume that more is better. Wrong! Doing too much too soon or performing intense exercises on a daily basis will have deleterious effects, such as muscle/tendon strains, loss of lean tissue, and fitness-level plateaus.

If you are a beginner, start off slower than you think you should. Three days per week is realistic, safe and effective. If you are experienced, do cardiovascular (aerobic) exercises such as walking, jogging and bicycling for no more than 200 minutes per week with no more than 60 minutes per session.

Weight training should be done no more than three times per week targeting the same muscle groups. Exercise the same muscle groups on non-consecutive days because muscles need adequate time to recover and cannot be effectively trained if they are tired or sore.

Many people forget to stretch or make the excuse that they don't have the time. Flexibility is important, so make the time! Stretching can be done every day, but stick to a minimum of three times per week in order to reap the benefits. When the body is warmed up, such as after a workout session, perform five to 10 stretches that target the major muscle groups. Hold each stretch for 10-30 seconds.
For the conclusion, exercise is good for our self to avert from the disease. We must always live in healthy.

Conversational skills are necessary for successful career growth and our pleasant interaction with other people. Commitment and consistency are fundamental to improving conversational skills. People with conversational skills have more friends and better chances in life, for they know how to promote their ideas and establish relationships. I am going to inform you about the nature of conversational skills, and then I will give you some practical tips that you may find useful.

this sentence the x speaker start to give a main point:

Conversational skills are special tools that make a conversation go. They are learned and trained to become automatic. They control questions, control feedback; help break the ice during unwanted pauses, give an idea of open-ended questions that drive a conversation, elaborate a theme. They are about shifts to another theme, the use of semantic means, combined body language and verbal speech. Conversational skills make people comfortable while talking to each other.

Now, I will give you five ways to improve your conversational techniques. First of all, the speakers should show interest in each other. Healthy curiosity heats up interest. When you ask questions, you intend to be given a response that can drive the conversation. Second, remember that a conversation is a dialogue with well-balanced talking and listening. Skilful speakers monitor themselves, taking control over taking turns. If you get skilled in taking turns, even talking a little, you will perfect your conversational skills. Third, give genuine compliments for the actions the person who you are talking to has done. This appraisal must be specific and will do wonders if followed by a tag question. Fourth, your paralanguage may speak louder than words. Bodily expressions have a meaning of their own. Fifth, a skilful speaker employs "What, where, when, who", "how", and "if" questions.

at last, the x speaker give some conclusion from this speech:

Conversational skills are acquired through special training. They help master the art of conversation as a meaning exchange of human thoughts. People are often clumsy and tongue-tied when expressing their thoughts and feelings. They need conversational eloquence, which may be achieved by using conversational techniques. Practice conversational skills with a smile, and this learned art will be yours at the moment when you need it most.

A persuasive speech against underage drinking

We are all students at college and most likely gone to one party with alcohol.

Today I'm here to convince you to think twice about picking up that next bottle of alcohol.

First, I will to talk about why teenagers should not have alcohol. Next, I'll discuss why teens are not responsible enough to drink and lastly I'll explain how alcohol is not good for your health.

Let's begin by talking about why teenagers should not have alcohol.

(In this main point Speaker X would like to tell audience about the underage drinking against by law)

underage drinking is illegal in all 50 states.
The tolerance that police have to a teenager drinking and driving is absolutely zero.
Most parents who find out that their child has been drinking are not pleased with it.
Underage drinking is a crime. It is a first-degree misdemeanours punishable with a maximum sentence of 6 months incapacitation and a $1000.00 fine.

Not only is underage drinking against the law, but it is endangering the person's life, as well as others, especially on college campuses.
As you can see on this survey from the George Mason Univ. & West Chester Univ. in 1997, alcohol was involved in more than two-thirds of all the campus incidents last year that occurred in residence halls. This survey involved 330 colleges and university throughout the country.
From the PSU Police Safety Services, the actual offenses of liquor in 2000 were 125 people and 169 people that were arrested due to liquor.

Now that I have explained why teens should not have alcohol, I will explain to all of you why teens are not responsible enough to drink.

(In this main point Speaker X will tell you about the negative effects of the underage drinking)
Teenagers are not responsible enough to drink.
When people drink they use poor judgment, and when underage people drink it is even worse.
So the more you drink, the more judgment you lose.
For example, according to Prof. Rosenberg from the Psychological Bulletin in 1993, 90% of all campus rapes involving drinking are 68% of manslaughter convictions and 63% of assaults that involve alcohol.

Now that I have explained why teenagers are not responsible to drink because of lack of judgment, I will explain how alcohol is harmful to your health.

(Speaker X would like to tell about the side effect of health)
Alcohol is harmful to your health.
Anyone who drinks has the chance of seriously hurting his or her body. This can happen in several ways.
Alcohol is a drug that can cause:
liver damage, cancer, heart damage or even death.
Women who consumer alcohols during pregnancy are at risk delivering a child with fatal alcohol syndrome.
Looks/appearance
people who drink on a regular basis tend to look older faster. So just think to yourself, drinking alcohol may seem good when you are 18 and want to look 21, but what happens when you turn 30 and look like your 50. How good is it then?

Now that I have gone over all the facts, let's go back over what we've learned today.

Today I've explained to you why drinking underage is harmful to teenagers.
First we talked about why teenagers should not have alcohol, then we discussed why teenagers are not responsible enough to drink, and finally we discussed how alcohol is harmful to your health.

Thank you.. (“,)

INFORMATIVE SPEECH : GLOBAL WARNING

In this sentence, speaker X is informing his audience about people have heard of the phrase “Global Warming” and they just go on without doing anything. The problem with this is people these days can be just plain wrong…kind of like textbooks. It is because of people thinking this way that our world is like it is, on a path to destruction. Speaker also inform about the three main disasters coming with global warming. These disasters are: the meltdown of the polar icecaps, the destruction of the ozone, and the destruction of the rain forest.

In this sentence, speaker X is trying to get his audience to survive the three main disasters coming with global warming.

1. the meltdown of the polar icecaps:
if you are near a skyscraper get to it, and climb to the very top, not halfway. Another possible way to survive this disaster, is to get into the nearest car and drive in the opposite direction of the water, but I must warn you this method is not approved of, due to the fact almost everyone else will have this same bright idea.

2. the destruction of the ozone:
You go straight to every window in your house and close the blinds, getting sunlight at this time would be very dangerous. Next you go and get the strongest sun block and you apply it to yourself, because even with your blinds closed you will need it. Next you drink a glass of water, it’s going to be a long day inside, because if you go outside your risk of skin cancer goes way up.

3. destruction of the rain forest:
we will have used up all of our fossil fuels by the year 2100, and the globe will have warmed up by 13 degrees Celsius. If this happens he says that a majority of the rain forests will disappear, and as you know, many of the medicines we use today come from plants in the rainforest. For a while we will be able to survive on the medicines we have left, but after a while these will grow scarce, and then you will have to only use them when you are really in need, or you will use them up before you really need them.

Salam,

Topic: To persuade my audience to go out and give blood

In this topic, the speaker wanted we to Imagine our father has just suffered a heart attack and must undergo open-heart surgery in order to repair the damage, Imagine your little nephew or niece baby was born with a heart defect and required daily transfusions of blood in order to have a chance at survival, Imagine your best friend has just been diagnosed with leukemia, a disease requiring regular transfusions of platelets.

Not very nice images are they, but these things happen and unfortunately some of you may even have experienced them already.
Naturally you'd hope and expect the hospital to have enough resources to facilitate the return to health, or to prolong their lives,
and naturally you'd want to do everything in your power to help.

There is one way you can help, that is by donating blood.

Transfusions of red blood cells, platelets, and plasma are critical to a patient's return to good health, and vital in helping to save someone's life in an emergency situation.

Some individuals requiring blood are surgical patients; burn victims; accident victims; anemics'; hemophiliacs; seriously ill babies; and persons suffering from leukemia, cancer, kidney disease and liver disease.

It is estimated that in the United States, every three seconds a patient needs blood

Sometimes the blood can be pre-donated by the patients themselves. However, most of the blood, needs to come from healthy volunteer donorsI. Yet only 5% of the eligible US population donates blood in any given year. Healthy donors are the only source of blood. As Blood can't be made or harvested, there is no substitute. The blood supply in the US is consistently low and the demand for blood increases each year much faster than the rate at which people are donating blood. As a result the supply of red blood cells (the most used blood component) barely serves the growing demand. To put this need into context, currently more than 4,000 gallons of red blood cells are used in
the US every day and that amount is increasing. It is estimated that 85% of us will need a transfusion at some point in our life.By donating blood to insure there is enough in supply, the life we save may be our own..Just one blood donation could save up to three lives. Well Giving blood is incredibly simple, yet immensely helpful. Anyone who is, At least 17 years of age, Weighs at least 110 pounds and is in good health can donate. The donation process, from the time you arrive until the time to you leave, is only about an hour. The donation itself is only about ten minutes. Less than 1 pint is taken during a donation. That fluid content is replaced naturally by the body within 24 hours. And the red blood cells lost are replaced within ten days. So as you can see, its safe, simple and most importantly it can save someone's life.

I'm sure in time of need we would all expect blood to be there for us, But barely a fraction of those who are able to give, actually do. Yet sooner or later, virtually all of us will face a time of great vulnerability in which we will need blood. It doesn't add up does it". Imagine how simple things would be if every one gave blood. Done on a fairly regular basis, like going to the cinema. What kind of difference would that make to you?.Very little I should imagine. But for nearly 5 million people who receive blood transfusions every year, it could be the difference between life and death.

Persuasive speech
Topic : Organ Donation

In this paragraph speaker Z is informing audience that at this moment in the US there are 79,000 U.S patients on the transplant waiting list.

Next paragraph is speaker Z try to persuade audience to do organ donation and tell them how to do it by get in touch with your local doctor and he will tell you all you need to know.

That all
Thank you..

PERSUASIVE SPEECH : RECYCLING

In this sentence, speaker S is informing his audience about people have heard of the phrase “RECYCLING”.

There in lays the problem. Too many people do not recycle and it is slowly killing this Earth we call home. When you are at your house or apartment or dorm do you take your trash and just throw it on the floor when finished? Well that is essentially what we are doing when we chose not to recycle.
Today I’ll bring to the forefront the problem we face with trash buildup on our Earth, how recycling helps and what it does, and what we can do to help.

In this sentence, speaker S is trying to persuade his audience to recycle.

1. Recycling is more than just not throwing recyclable goods in the trash. It’s more than throwing recyclable goods in plastic bin. There is a lot that goes into recycling.

2.Recycling is a very technically detailed process. According to a University of Oregon Article about “What Happens When You Recycle” we can take a look at the technical process behind a lot of common household recyclable goods. Some common goods include newspaper, cardboard, aluminum, steel cans, glass, motor oil, and plastics.Let’s take a closer look at two that we mentioned earlier newspaper and plastics.Newspaper goes through a chemical process that separates the paper fibers from the ink. After becoming pulp, washed, and going through several sets of cleaning screens the fibers are flattened and dried to be reused as newspaper. Plastic are shredded, baled, or chipped before they are shipped off to a reprocessing plant. There resins are melted and remolded into new products. For example, flower pots, car parts, toys, drainage pipe, etc.

In this sentence, speaker S entertain his audience with a conclusion.

I hope you have a deeper appreciation for the troubles that face us with an increase in the landfills all over the world. Also, I hope I have explained clearly how recycling helps the re-use of goods and how we CAN make a difference for the future.

Informative speech : Hemeopathy

In this sentences speaker X is trying to inform audience other alternative of medicines besides conventional medicines that is hemeopathy. When conventional medicine has failed to be effective, people use homeopathy, mainly to cure minor short-term illnesses or long-term illnesses these people cannot cure otherwise. Homeopathy is based on the principle that "like cures like". Also, it is an extremely dilute form of a remedy. Finally, a homeopathic remedy is aimed at all symptoms as one. Although it may be time-consuming to select a proper homeopathic remedy finder, it may be found to make the organism function better.

In this sentence speaker X try to tell audience the advantages of hemoepathy. Homeopathy has advantages over medications. First of all, it has no side effects. It is even more harmless than herbal treatment which can have side effects. Second, homeopathy is in harmony with the immune system. It cures the weak chain in the organism, never forgetting about the needs of a whole healthy organism. Third, homeopathy develops no addiction. Fourth, it is holistic, for it treats all symptoms as one. Fourth, homeopathy has a calming effect. It gives hope without doing harm. Some critics of homeopathy claimed that it violates the laws of chemistry with its emphasis on quantities and tiny doses of the first, second, and further potency. They consider it irrational. But when rational medications produce no effect, it is less rational not to try something that can help even irrationally.

Assalamualaikum..

( You eat 3 meals each day. There are 365 days in one year, 365 multiplied by 3 is 1095. That means you eat 1095 meals each year. That is a lot. How many of these meals are the same thing you’ve eaten as always?
This is why you would be interested in what I have to talk about. Ladies and Gentlemen, I would like to invite to try the something new and wonderful, something you probably have never eaten in your entire life. I suggest eating some authentic Incan Cuisines. )
In this paragraph speaker Z is suggesting us to eat some authentic Incan Cuisines.

( The Incan people developed over a hundred varieties of the potato as early as 2500 BS. They invented a method of freeze-drying to preserve potatoes. The Incas were sun worshippers; their food contained a yellow color to them.
The food of the Incans was very unique. Their good agricultural improvements made them create unique vegetable and fruits to work with and gave rise to many new dishes and delight to please the mouth. This right here is called: potato cakes. It is a mixture of potatoes, onions, and cheese. It took me a very long time to make and I failed at cooking, but try it. It takes very good and this is only a sample of what Incan food has to offer )
In this paragraph, speaker Z want to inform that the food of the Incans was very unique. They got some mixture in their food that makes them special and unique. The speaker strongly informed that their foods are delicious and a must-to-be-tried one.

When I started this investigation, I didn’t know much about Incan culture, mainly their food. I knew that potatoes originated in the Americas, but I did not know that the Incans used so much in their cooking and that they developed so many different types of potatoes. In that aspect I was really amazed. )
In this paragraph, speaker Z wants to persuade us to eat Incan food, which is mainly potatoes. Their cooking are using so much potatoes and they have developed so many different types of potatoes. That is what that makes speaker Z very amazed of.

( Now, you’re probably wondering why I am doing this? Well, I was once like you. I never tried anything new and stuck to the same old regimen of food I ate day in and day out. But once I smelled the rich cuisines of the Incas, I broke down and had to taste this! Isn’t your mouth already watering just at the thought of it? From that moment on, I began to research about all of the Incan food. It is so amazing to see such a rich culture in this food. )
In this paragraph, speaker Z wants to entertain his audience about how he eagerly want to tried to test the Incan food and test it although these food was very strange for him.

How to Be Self Motivated

In this sentences speaker X asked to remind yourself of the consequences of not getting something done. Think about what will happen if your homework is not finished. Your teacher will probably be upset with you, you might get detention and your grades could slip.

Focus on long-term goals. If you want to get into a good college it is necessary to keep your grades up. You will need to get your homework done and to study for tests. Use your long-term goals to motivate yourself.

Set small, obtainable goals. If you must complete a 10-page term paper, divide it into short, manageable steps. Your first goal can be writing the introduction, and then the first page. Keep setting new goals until the entire paper is completed and reward yourself for progress. After you get the introduction written, take a 10-minutes break. Each time you reach the next goal, give yourself another reward.

Persevere and be patient. Even the most self motivated people sometimes lose their enthusiasm and fall behind. Be patient with yourself when you have a setback. Take a break and then return to the task.

thank you..

Informative Speech
Title: Islam and Christianity

bismillahirrahmnairrahim,

1st and foremost, all praises be to Him who gave me the strength and will to complete both my books and a part of my studies for the coming exams, all the while keeping me busy with issues of both the Islamic world and the world without it.

The book that I have just finished is entitled: Muhammad, Biography of a Prophet by Karen Armstrong, and it is quite interesting to see the link of that particular book with what is happening to the Muslims ummah today, especially that of the small sect in Malaysia.. Anyways, I find Malaysia a funny and quite intriguing country; it has a large (more than half) Muslim majority, ruled by Muslim leaders with a Muslim parliamentary monarchy system, has a minority non-Muslim population and also has some of its roots embedded in Western colonialism and secularismwhen discussing matters regarding, say, secularism and imperialism, one cannot run from the fact that these ideas evolved in an era in which Muslims were dominant and in a socio-political scene that is of the total reverse from that of Muslims. Yet it is interesting to note that most Muslims can’t seem to find the link between secularism, Christianity and Islam, and seem to think that anything from the West, or the 1st World, at least, is bad because it has non-Islamic ideals attached to it.

Before i start, i would like to say that if there are any errors or discrepancies in the things that I say here, especially historically, then I am more than happy to change it, if readers would be so kind as to point it out and why it is wrong.

Now, let us take a brief tour of the 2 religions that has until recently seem to be bitter enemies, and can’t seem to reconcile their differences, until the advent of the modern age (even then, there is a sort of uneasy truce between people of both religions), namely, Islam and Christianity. Islam’s message is inevitably linked with the idea of social justice. The prophet Muhammad P.B.U.H preached his message in a society which has abandoned the old tribal system of communalism and seem to have adopted a more individualistic and capitalistic mentality because of the recent settling down in Mecca after generations of nomadic life (of course, we are talking about the Quraysh here, which settled in Mecca relatively recently and has become more and more accustomed to city life, which disregards a lot of the tribal morality and ethics that has been the time-honoured traditions of the Arabs). The society in Mecca was a mess; infanticide, adultery, murder are only a few vices in which Arabs at that time thought as being the norm. In such a situation, it is only natural that the Prophet preaches a message of social justice, in which the poor and the rich is given equal right, and society abide by an egalitarian code in which everyone gets what is due for him, and no one is treated in an unjust manner. The culmination of this ideal is the rise of Medina after the hijra, which later became the 2nd most important city in Islam after Mecca, and subsequently saw the expansion of the Islamic message to the rest of the world, ushering a period of, as been put by Karen very nicely, pax islamica, in which the ideals of Islam were seen to have ruled the world.

TO BE CONT

Aldin_HPA said...

In contrast, Christianity developed in what is known as pax romana, a situation where there is already a very strong governing body. Jesus had not had the need for a kingdom down on earth. even in the Bible it is said that Jesus claimed that his kingdom is not here on earth, but that of the other world. The early Christians did not have to wrestle with the ideas and ideals of governance, and concern themselves more with the battle for the soul, the purification of the soul, if you like. And to make matters worse, Christians are persecuted by the Roman rulers, which made life difficult for them, making some of them running to remote places such as deserts so that they are able to practice their religion without fear of their pagan rulers. Christianity only came to the forefront of civilization, if you like, when Constantine (sometimes called ‘the Great’) “adopted” Christianity. The exact historical sequence of this is still a bit vague to me, but i think it could be suffice for me to point out that after this, Christianity began to prosper in Rome, who was the precursor to the Byzantine Empire. To be honest, I am not that well read in Christianity’s development, and therefore, i shall not indulge too much time in trying to explain everything regarding the Christian faith; it will be an injustice on my part if I were to do that, but i will try to give an overview of the different situation between both faiths, and how it affects the development of thoughts in both religions.the rest of this is history, but interestingly, after the Western Roman empire collapsed, we saw the Church’s increasing influence in society (perhaps due to the insecurity that people feel by the fragmentation of power during that time), and that the Church began to develop a unique system of law and control over their medieval believers. They started to intrude upon people’s lives, and started an effort to try to control people’s way of thinking.

TO BE CONT

Aldin_HPA said...

In such a climate the modern stream of thought was conceived, and it is quite understandable that they should separate religion from the state because of what they see as the failure of the Church and that religion, as they understand it, may not have been sufficient to include all this new developments in science and logic that has been made. (this is truly very crude, i apologize for the lack of refinement). The result of this, in a nutshell, is the style of thinking that we see today; that of secularism and atheism, which, to be honest, is very much understandable if we look at it in the historical context.however, there was never such a tradition in the Islamic world; politics, religion, science and logic has always come hand in hand and there should never be a separation of the state and religion, lest the rulings of God is not enforced. The Islamic tradition has always been an egalitarian one, that everyone is equal in the eyes of God, and that the rulers are merely entrusted with the heavy burden of administrating the earth. This mentality explains the various dynasties in the Islamic world and also the culture of knowledge that evolved in the Muslim world. This is not to say that there wasn’t any such culture in medieval Europe, just that most of the knowledge at that time, as far as i can tell, is in the hands of the monks, and that education is limited to a very few privileged few. When the Western “onslaught” came, it is interesting to note that Muslims, at first, reacted very creatively and was very welcoming of the new innovations of the West. But because of circumstances, and due to some extent to the weakness of Muslims, their empire disintegrated and Western powers started to crave up Muslim lands at their whim. Such a behaviour may be seen as evil to the Muslims, but it is quite normal for any power to do this, and such a thing has always been the wont of men. Reading through histories of other civilizations will convince you of this.

The reaction by Muslims to this could not have been more pronounced. many of them see the Western advances, with their technological superiority and radically different and alien ideologies must have seemed to them to be an affront to what the whole of Islam, and many of the relics of such thinking is present to even this day; the inherent hatred an suspicion to the West, rejecting everything Western, the longing for the Caliphate system of the past, etc. I am not saying that we should accept everything that is presented before us, nor should we disregard the ideas of bringing the Caliphate back (that is another topic for debate), but what I am trying to put forth here is that the mentality and ideologies of the West has evolved in such circumstances that is understandable, and that Muslims should not have this “siege mentality” that is so very obvious in society. Rather, Muslims should be like the Muslims of old; confident and accommodating to all cultures, taking the good and compatible aspects of other religions and culture to be assimilated into the Muslim Islamic culture, and not shunning other people’s ideas without having first understood whence it comes from and what is the effect of such ideologies to the society of that culture, and what could be the good and bad implications of such ideologies have to the Muslims in general.

Therefore, think before you act.

TITLE;
CONGRATULATING AN ATHEIST
Normally, when I meet an atheist, the first thing I like to do is to congratulate him and say, " My special congratulations to you", because most of the people who believe in God are doing blind belief - he is a Christian, because his father is a Christian; he is a Hindu, because his father is a Hindu; the majority of the people in the world are blindly following the religion of their fathers.
An atheist, on the other hand, even though he may belong to a religious family, uses his intellect to deny the existence of God; what ever concept or qualities of God he may have learnt in his religion may not seem to be logical to him.
My Muslim brothers may question me, "Zakir, why are you congratulating an atheist?"
The reason that I am congratulating an atheist is because he agrees with the first part of the Shahada i.e. the Islamic Creed, ‘La ilaaha’ - meaning ‘there is no God’. So half my job is already done; now the only part left is ‘il lallah’ i.e. ‘BUT ALLAH’ which I shall do Insha Allah.
With others (who are not atheists) I have to first remove from their minds the wrong concept of God they may have and then put the correct concept of one true God.
LOGICAL CONCEPT OF GOD
My first question to the atheist will be: "What is the definition of God?" For a person to say there is no God, he should know what is the meaning of God.
If I hold a book and say that ‘this is a pen’, for the opposite person to say, ‘it is not a pen’, he should know what is the definition of a pen, even if he does not know nor is able to recognise or identify the object I am holding in my hand. For him to say this is not a pen, he should at least know what a pen means.
Similarly for an atheist to say ‘there is no God’, he should at least know the concept of God. His concept of God would be derived from the surroundings in which he lives. The god that a large number of people worship has got human qualities - therefore he does not believe in such a god.
Similarly a Muslim too does not and should not believe in such false gods. If a non-Muslim believes that Islam is a merciless religion with something to do with terrorism; a religion which does not give rights to women; a religion which contradicts science; in his limited sense that non-Muslim is correct to reject such Islam.
The problem is he has a wrong picture of Islam. Even I reject such a false picture of Islam, but at the same time, it becomes my duty as a Muslim to present the correct picture of Islam to that non-Muslim i.e. Islam is a merciful religion, it gives equal rights to the women, it is not incompatible with logic, reason and science; if I present the correct facts about Islam, that non-Muslim may Inshallah accept Islam.
Similarly the atheist rejects the false gods and the duty of every Muslim is to present the correct concept of God which he shall Insha Allah not refuse. (You may refer to my article, ‘Concept of God in Islam’, for more details)

QUR’AN AND MODERN SCIENCE
The methods of proving the existence of God with usage of the material provided in the ‘Concept of God in Islam’ to an atheist may satisfy some but not all.
Many atheists demand a scientific proof for the existence of God. I agree that today is the age of science and technology. Let us use scientific knowledge to kill two birds with one stone, i.e. to prove the existence of God and simultaneously prove that the Qur’an is a revelation of God.
If a new object or a machine, which no one in the world has ever seen or heard of before, is shown to an atheist or any person and then a question is asked, " Who is the first person who will be able to provide details of the mechanism of this unknown object?
After little bit of thinking, he will reply, ‘the creator of that object.’ Some may say ‘the producer’ while others may say ‘the manufacturer.’ What ever answer the person gives, keep it in your mind, the answer will always be either the creator, the producer, the manufacturer or some what of the same meaning, i.e. the person who has made it or created it. Don’t grapple with words, whatever answer he gives, the meaning will be same, therefore accept it.
SCIENTIFIC FACTS MENTIONED IN THE QUR’AN
for details on this subject please refer to my book, ‘THE QUR’AN AND MODERN SCIENCE – COMPATIBLE OR INCOMPATIBLE?

THEORY OF PROBABILITY
In mathematics there is a theory known as ‘Theory of Probability’. If you have two options, out of which one is right, and one is wrong, the chances that you will chose the right one is half, i.e. one out of the two will be correct. You have 50% chances of being correct. Similarly if you toss a coin the chances that your guess will be correct is 50% (1 out of 2) i.e. 1/2.
If you toss a coin the second time, the chances that you will be correct in the second toss is again 50% i.e. half. But the chances that you will be correct in both the tosses is half multiplied by half (1/2 x 1/2) which is equal to 1/4 i.e. 50% of 50% which is equal to 25%. If you toss a coin the third time, chances that you will be correct all three times is (1/2 x 1/2 x 1/2) that is 1/8 or 50% of 50% of 50% that is 12½%.
A dice has got six sides. If you throw a dice and guess any number between 1 to 6, the chances that your guess will be correct is 1/6. If you throw the dice the second time, the chances that your guess will be correct in both the throws is (1/6 x 1/6) which is equal to 1/36. If you throw the dice the third time, the chances that all your three guesses are correct is (1/6 x 1/6 x 1/6) is equal to 1/216 that is less than 0.5 %.
Let us apply this theory of probability to the Qur’an, and assume that a person has guessed all the information that is mentioned in the Qur’an which was unknown at that time. Let us discuss the probability of all the guesses being simultaneously correct. At the time when the Qur’an was revealed, people thought the world was flat, there are several other options for the shape of the earth. It could be triangular, it could be quadrangular, pentagonal, hexagonal, heptagonal, octagonal, spherical, etc.
Lets assume there are about 30 different options for the shape of the earth. The Qur’an rightly says it is spherical, if it was a guess the chances of the guess being correct is 1/30. The light of the moon can be its own light or a reflected light.
The Qur’an rightly says it is a reflected light. If it is a guess, the chances that it will be correct is 1/2 and the probability that both the guesses i.e the earth is spherical and the light of the moon is reflected light is 1/30 x 1/2 = 1/60.
Further, the Qur’an also mentions every living thing is made of water. Every living thing can be made up of either wood, stone, copper, aluminum, steel, silver, gold, oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen, oil, water, cement, concrete, etc. The options are say about 10,000.
The Qur’an rightly says that everything is made up of water. If it is a guess, the chances that it will be correct is 1/10,000 and the probability of all the three guesses i.e. the earth is spherical, light of moon is reflected light and everything is created from water being correct is 1/30 x 1/2 x 1/10,000 = 1/60,000 which is equal to about .0017%.
The Qur’an speaks about hundreds of things that were not known to men at the time of its revelation. Only in three options the result is .0017%. I leave it upto you, to work out the probability if all the hundreds of the unknown facts were guesses, the chances of all of them being correct guesses simultaneously and there being not a single wrong guess.
It is beyond human capacity to make all correct guesses without a single mistake, which itself is sufficient to prove to a logical person that the origin of the Qur’an is Divine.

Aldin_HPA said...

CREATOR IS THE AUTHOR OF THE QUR’AN
The only logical answer to the question as to who could have mentioned all these scientific facts 1400 years ago before they were discovered, is exactly the same answer initially given by the atheist or any person, to the question who will be the first person who will be able to tell the mechanism of the unknown object.
It is the ‘CREATOR’, the producer, the Manufacturer of the whole universe and its contents. In the English language He is ‘God’, or more appropriate in the Arabic language, ‘ALLAH’.
QUR’AN IS A BOOK OF SIGNS AND NOT SCIENCE
Let me remind you that the Qur’an is not a book of Science, ‘S-C-I-E-N-C-E’ but a book of Signs ‘S-I-G-N-S’ i.e. a book of ayaats. The Qur’an contains more than 6,000 ayaats, i.e. ‘signs’, out of which more than a thousand speak about Science. I am not trying to prove that the Qur’an is the word of God using scientific knowledge as a yard stick because any yardstick is supposed to be more superior than what is being checked or verified.
For us Muslims the Qur’an is the Furqan i.e. criteria to judge right from wrong and the ultimate yardstick which is more superior to scientific knowledge. But for an educated man who is an atheist, scientific knowledge is the ultimate test which he believes in.
We do know that science many a times takes ‘U’ turns, therefore I have restricted the examples only to scientific facts which have sufficient proof and evidence and not scientific theories based on assumptions. Using the ultimate yardstick of the atheist, I am trying to prove to him that the Qur’an is the word of God and it contains the scientific knowledge which is his yardstick which was discovered recently, while the Qur’an was revealed 1400 year ago. At the end of the discussion, we both come to the same conclusion that God though superior to science, is not incompatible with it.
SCIENCE IS ELIMINATING MODELS OF GOD BUT NOT GOD
Francis Bacon, the famous philosopher, has rightly said that a little knowledge of science makes man an atheist, but an in-depth study of science makes him a believer in God.
Scientists today are eliminating models of God, but they are not eliminating God. If you translate this into Arabic, it is La illaha illal la, There is no god, (god with a small ‘g’ that is fake god) but God (with a capital ‘G’). Surah Fussilat: "Soon We will show them our signs in the (farthest) regions (of the earth), and in their own souls, until it becomes manifest to them that this is the Truth. Is it not enough that thy Lord doth witness all things?" [Al-Quran 41:53]

Title : I Have a Dream

I have chosen a speech given by Martin Luther King on the 28 August 1963 at Lincoln Memorial.
Martin Luther King is an activist with a mission to help America with her problem by addressing the issue, thus I will analyse a sentence of his speech that wanted to inform the people of such problem.
“This note was a promise that all men, yes, black men as well as white men, would be guaranteed the “unalienable Rights” of “Life, Liberty and pursuit of Happiness”. (www.americanrhetoric.com/speeches/mlkihaveadream.htm)
This is a sentence from his speeches that inform the American people their rights of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. Martin Luther King wanted America to act upon its “promises”. What are the promises? Martin Luther King may had been referring to The Unanimous Declaration of The Thirteen United States of America, statement taken unanimously when America declares her independence from the British Empire.
“We hold these truths to be self-evident,… endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” (www.ushistory.org/declaration/document/)
The second promise is The United States Constitution, the fifth amendment of the American Constitution;
“...nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.” (www.usconstitution.net/xconst_Am5.html)
This is part of the amendment that state no one can be robbed from them life, liberty or property. This is the rights for the American people as declared by the declaration of independence and the American Constitution, two of the fundamental pillars of America, and longed by Martin Luther King including the people of America. Martin Luther King thus, informs his audience the promises that supposed to be honoured for all Americans, without prejudice, so that, they know their rights really is constituted and is unbiased, it is only up to the people to uphold it.

Martin Luther King wanted what being promise to be done at the same time informing the audience the promise itself, I will analyse a sentence from Martin Luther King speech that is persuasive in value. The sentence that I found out to be persuasive is;
“Now is the time to make justice a reality for all God’s children.” (www.americanrhetoric.com/speeches/mlkihaveadream.htm)
Martin Luther King persuades his audience to start seek justice for mankind. He continues the persuasion further in his speech. Martin Luther King wanted his audience to ask their own morality and humanity, is justice for all? This is very compelling at the time as injustice is evident in American community. He also uses the word god as a reminder to religious belief to do good. Ultimately, he uses his audiences’ sentiments and beliefs to persuade them rise up and demand justice for the oppression.

After persuasion Martin Luther King entertain his audiences, I will analyse the sentence as such. The sentence that I choose is;
“Instead of honoring this sacred obligation, America has given the Negro people a bad check, a check that which has come back marked “insufficient fund”.” (www.americanrhetoric.com/speeches/mlkihaveadream.htm)
In this sentence Martin Luther King uses “insufficient fund” that can mean many things. The reason the sentence was considered as entertaining, because, the word that Martin Luther King gives during his speech is cynical in a way. As America is often called land of opportunity, certainly “lack of fund” is impossible.

Martin Luther King manages to use words effectively either when he is informing, persuading or entertaining. His words is understandable, furthermore, his ability to incorporate other sources into his speech, also, the way he manipulate his speech and uses the people sentiments and belief is indeed good.

title : text and drive

In this paragraph, speaker M want to inform audience about impact of text and drive. The growing popularity of text messaging especially young adult has had a really negative impact on vehicular safety, as more and more people behind the wheel.

Tapping out text messages on a cellphone while driving is dangerous, the American Medical Association (AMA) said and supported state legislation to ban it. This group, which represents about 240 000 US doctors, voted to lend its weight to laws that would make it easier for police to pull over drivers who are doing it.“Texting while driving takes the driver’s attention away from the road, which can lead to accidents,” said Dr Peter Carmel, an AMA board member

Next, in this paragraph, speaker M want to persuade audience to not text and drive. A recent study by the AMA's found that text messaging while driving causes a 400 percent increase in time spent with eyes off the road. No one should have to worry that other drivers are focused on texting instead of traffic.

This is about keeping people safe on our roads. According to the research made by the department of ministry of transportation, more than 2000 accident has been reportedly because of text and drive and had a conversation while driving.

If drivers can change their attitude while driving, the average of total accident in this country can be reduce. It means that speaker M entertain the audience by no text and drive, no accident will be happen.

Kennedy is informing the audiences about the will on their side to bringing freedom on this earth. Also, it is an extremely dilute form of a remedy. Finally, a homeopathic remedy is aimed at all symptoms as one. Although it may be time-consuming to select a proper homeopathic remedy finder, it may be found to make the organism function better.

then speaker S explain to the audience about the advantage of homeopathy.First it has no side effects. Some critics of homeopathy claimed that it violates the laws of chemistry with its emphasis on quantities and tiny doses of the first, second, and further potency. They consider it irrational. But when rational medications produce no effect, it is less rational not to try something that can help even irrationally.

Assalamualaikum and Selamat Hari Raya

Madam, I have choose speech from Martin Luther King. This title of this speech is Loving Your Enemies. I think this speech is the best.

The first sentence that i choose from this speech is "Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them that despitefully use you; that ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven". Martin Luther King is informing to audience that we must do good if somebody is not doing nice to us. We also must be patient if somebody is want to do bad to us. We must not hate someone if there are someone who hate us but we must doing nice to them. So they will be nice to us.

The second sentences that i choose from this speech is "A second thing that an individual must do in seeking to love his enemy is to discover the element of good in his enemy, and everytime you begin to hate that person and think of hating that person, realize that there is some good there and look at those good points which will over-balance the bad points.". Martin Luther King want to persuade the audience that if we want to hate somebody, we must think first what they have done to us. Because there must be somebody who have done a good thing to us.

The last sentence that i got from this speech is " So this morning, as I look into your eyes, and into the eyes of all of my brothers in Alabama and all over America and over the world, I say to you, "I love you. I would rather die than hate you. And I'm foolish enough to believe that through the power of this love somewhere, men of the most recalcitrant bent will be transformed". So Martin Luther King want to give advice to the audience not to hate somebody and in the same time, he also insert humor in this sentence. So the audience feel happy while listening to this speech. Martin Luther King believe that people who are recalcitrant will change their mind. He said this to the audience in a way that entertain the audience.

I took the speech from David Katz the director of Yale University's Prevention Research Center and of the Yale Preventive Medicine Center. He said that ''Being overweight or obese is associated with an increased risk for the development of a multitude of diseases, including cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and more,” in this speech he is informing to the audience to be more careful if we are obese because there is a high risk of an obese people can get a health disease.
Another part of his speech is when he said “Lifestyle changes that include healthier diets, regular physical activity, and weight loss of 7%-10% have shown phenomenal health benefits that can be more effective than medications,'' this is when he want to persuade the audience to change the way they exercise. Not just taking the medicine but by exercise also include with physical activity and many more. With this the obese people will get more benefit rather than just taking the medicine.
Some part when he say ''Losing weight the healthy way means not only will you look and feel better, but you will have more energy,'' this is when he advice the people that you will get more energy and not just feel better with your new healthy life.
Thank You..
